MEF sees the region, with its profusion of dictatorships, radical ideologies, existential conflicts, border disagreements, political violence, and weapons of mass destruction as a major source of problems for the United States.

By offering a forum for points of view previously excluded from the periodical literature on the Middle East, the appearance of this journal ends a de facto censorship.

MEF formerly published the Middle East Intelligence Bulletin (MEIB), which was copublished by the U.S. Committee for a Free Lebanon.
The MEIB focused on “internal political developments in the Middle East, especially those that are thinly covered in other English-language publications.” Its reporting on Syria, together with the extensive lobbying by USCFL president Ziad Abdelnour and other USCFL members, contributed to the approval of the Syria Accountability and Lebanese Sovereignty Restoration Act in 2003.
Five years later, the Middle East Forum considers this report’s conclusion as “prescient” since MEF had long advocated that Syrian troops leave Lebanon, albeit having advocated that U.S. armed forces be used if necessary to implement regime change in Syria and to obligate Syria to withdraw all troops from Lebanon.

Bahrain/Qatar forum is very slow and isnt doing well as expected and like dubai lover said there are two or three only frequent visitors.
I'm just saying the title of the Bahrain/Qatar forum should be changed to include Saudi Arabia as well, or change the title to "Gulf" because the few threads about SA that are thrown in the general Middle East area are ignored.
Since the Bahrain/Qatar forum is so slow, SA would be a good addition for them, until there's more interest generated.
