I also really the like the story of this album, it's some type of 'Lord of the Rings'-ish story, i'd think it would be that because 'Middle Earth' is where Lord of the Rings takes place.
Rather, I was attracted to "Nightfall in Middle-earth" because I'm a die-hard Tolkien fan, and in this album Blind Guardian spins a roiling rock rendition of Tolkien's "The Silmarillion."
Andre Olbrich, lead and acoustic guitars- Although Andre hogs much of the writing on this album, he still is a brilliant guitarist.

PARANOISE - Ethnic flavored prog rock - political impetus - "Eclectic Earwig Reviews Music and More for You!"
Their third album Private Power took them to the Middle East where they sampled indigenous chanting of the region that they combined with their unique brand of Punk Metal.
The album opens with an ethnic Middle-Eastern rhythmic chanting that is quickly augmented with a Middle-Eastern Violin melody over a Swing rhythm; quite energetic and engaging.
Starting with their debut album Constant Fear and their sophomore effort Start a New Race which were much more in the Heavy Metal realm.

 Rob Lutes, Middle Ground
Reminiscent of John Hiatt's breakthrough 1987 album Bring the Family both vocally and from a production standpoint, Rob Lutes' sophomore release, Middle Ground, is a spare, confident and thoroughly enjoyable recording.
The album then settles into a more contemplative groove as Lutes focuses his attentions on personal experiences including the death of his father on the track "Last Chance."
And yet the moments when he allows himself to throw some weight behind his vocals provide a wonderful counterpoint to the quiet passion of his delivery on songs like "Nobody Here" and "Ruth."

Natalie Imbruglia : Left of the Middle (Australian Bonus Tracks) - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
Expectations for Natalie Imbruglia's debut album, Left of the Middle, were high because of the runaway success of the pre-album single "Torn" during 1997-1998.
left of the middle (australian bonus tracks) - similar albums
Not all of the material on Left of the Middle fairs as well, however, such as the Alanis Morissette sound-alike "Intuition," but Imbruglia need not worry about being lumped into the copycat category; for the most part, she has a style all her own.

Amy: Though there have been many interpretations of Tolkien's poetry, and even several retellings of Tolkien's storylines, The Middle Earth Album did something new by capturing a live sound, in effect, from Middle-earth itself.
So, The Middle Earth Album was made to please ourselves, and so was Lex Rex.
Lex Rex is still a fun album in the musical sense, but the story is a weighty one.

Having hit the top of the world and a widely acclaimed creative peak with the concept album Nightfall in Middle Earth, the band disappeared from the public eye for a few years until a few months ago the single "And Then There Was Silence" was released.
5) The band was originally planning to release an EP after Nightfall in Middle Earth, on which those tracks that had not made it to the aforementioned album would appear and thus end the story of the concept.
Obviously it's a lot of work to get the concept going and also to have the songwriting be right for it and everything, like the first song of a concept album has to kind of include everything and it needs a lot of time, so doing such a concept (the Nibelungen) would be very complicated.

 Mike Curb Biography
He is most visible in music through his Curb Records label which, in addition to releasing lots of good country music, also features a line of mid-priced reissues of classic recording acts from the 1950s and 1960s in simple best-of collections that are perfect for middle-class middle-brow sensibilities.
When Curb took over MGM Records at the end of the 1960s, while he was in his mid-twenties, he began a very public "clean up" of the label by dropping all of the supposed "drug-oriented" acts from the label's roster.
None of Curb's signings lasted too long at the top of the charts, however, and by the mid-'70s, MGM was nearly as inactive as the studio that spawned it (which was generating just a handful of movies a year, few of them even slightly distinguished).

Somewhere in the middle of it, the thing coalesced into a pretty uniform statement based on lots heads getting banged against walls and ecstatic viewings of The Seventh Seal in the group’s shared apartment, despite the album’s apparent schizophrenia.
They have now been playing shows for nearly three years at rock clubs, converted industrial warehouses, dank basements, wine-drinking art parties, middle-of-nowhere Christmas tree farms and woodsy backyard tool sheds.
The Pray for the Worms EP is the culmination of this year’s efforts and is kind of a modest recording done on the fly on 8-track and 4-track machines while we were figuring all this out.

Hanson also made a record re-releasing most of the material found on their 1996 independent album, “MMMBop.” This was entitled “Three Car Garage.” The live album, “Live from Albertane,” was released after the 1998 tour.

The Himalayan Project, composed of Rainman and Chee Malabar, harks back to this time on "The Middle Passage," which is both the album's strength and weakness.
The album would be an okay release during the laid-back jazz era that we were speaking on, but now, with the best of that genre released ten years ago, Middle Passage sounds pretty dated.

They Might Be Giants: Mink Car: Pitchfork Review
The humble geeks, who at the time of their last album enjoyed a substantial cult following of middle-aged computer programmers and younger "Tiny Toon Adventures" fanatics, have started receiving recognition on a scale never before imagined, penning music for "Malcolm in the Middle" and Austin Powers 2.
But these aren't your average geeks-- these geeks managed to craft two undeniably brilliant albums with backup provided only by primitive Macintosh MIDI in lieu of traditional instrumentation.
It's a sad thing when you find yourself waiting for a band to pull off a second-rate imitation of their older material, but it's almost unavoidable with an album as disjointed and generally bad as Mink Car.
