Mirror, Mirror - a horror film from 1990
Mirror, Mirror is a popular title for works of fiction.
This book is absolutely spellbinding and captivating in it's presentation that is both an excellent narrative and artistic with imagery to further enhance the experience.

Gary Westfahl's Bio-Encyclopedia of Science Fiction Film: Roddy McDowall
After all, there were few performers in Hollywood who could be intelligently cast both as the Devil (in an episode of Fantasy Island) and as Saint Peter (in Unlikely Angel), and few who could have provided a persuasive performance, and served as the solid foundation for an enduring film franchise, while buried under ape makeup.
A potential move into directing ended after one, disastrously unsuccessful film, and his efforts to keep working soon transformed him into a mainstay of science fiction, fantasy, and horror films and television, almost inevitably in minor, and sometimes mortifying, roles.
As he found it harder and harder to keep getting roles in major films, he lost an almost-guaranteed and potentially career-reviving Academy Award for his supporting role in Cleopatra (1963) when he wasn't nominated due to someone's stupid mistake.

 jan krawitz, documentary filmmaker
The film weaves together educational films from the sixties, television news footage, and family photos as it tells the story of the collision between the filmmaker's youthful understanding of safety and fear and her adult encounter with random violence.
Confronting the changes in attitude among dwarfs as they struggle towards equal opportunity and enhanced self-esteem, the film provides insight into the dwarf experience and offers a unique and sometimes disturbing perspective on the average-sized world.
This film focuses on those elements of the circus which are not generally accessible to the circus audience, capturing both the magic and the routine of circus life.

MIRROR MIRROR (Review by Josh Bozeman)
The normal girl learns from the antique lady that the mirror is what's causing the trouble, and that the weird girl is being controlled by the evil forces in the mirror.
The mirror is taken to the store as well, BUT- somehow, the mirror gets back into the house and the teen girl likes it, so she keeps it herself.
So, the girl who wears all black and has her hair dyed black (the weird freak girl)- her mom is nearly as freaky as she is- uses the power of the mirror to hurt people...including killing one of the biggest bitches in the school.

 Mirror Mirror
Mirror Mirror provocatively explores the relationship between a woman's body image and the quest for an idealized female form.
The film incisively illuminates the vagaries in the concept of an "ideal" body type, thereby encouraging women to love and accept their own bodies.
"As a teaching tool, the film touched off a wealth of responses."

Shadowcat Movie / TV Reviews - Mirror Mirror (1990)
It spawned a rancid sequel in 'Mirror Mirror 2: Raven Dance' which had nothing to do with this film except for having another demonic mirror.
Emelin continues to read Mary's diary and learns that the mirror was used as a gateway allowing demons to enter our world, by granting wishes and desires the demons would seduce one into using its power and fall prey to its bidding.
Then something tries to emerge from the ornate but sinister mirror that is seemingly watching the gruesome scene.

 Mirror, Mirror
By then, the mirror that the woman left behind in the house has served its purpose as a gateway to demonic worlds, and the evil ones have wreaked havoc in this one.
In this straightforward horror film, a new widow (Karen Black) and her daughter (Rainbow Harvest) have just moved into a new home.
They don't discover until much later that the previous owner was mad, mad, mad.

The basic story is a girl has a mirror in her room which gives her demonic powers, she then uses these to 'bump off' people that annoy her, for instance a sarcastic teacher and a snobbish class president, so far, so cliché.

 Mirror Mirror
Mirror, Mirror explores women's perceptions of their own bodies compared with the "perfect" figure.
The old film clips underscore the timelessness and universality of the program's subject.
While the subject of the video is narrow and it will probably be best suited to women's groups, the program presents a little-discussed but often-pondered subject exceedingly well.

 Close-up
In all sense the film is a mirror facing a mirror, which creates infinite reflections.
Every aspect of the film has been talked about, but once I started writing on the film, I found that it still remains like a magic hat with lots to pull out.
The film is also the story of Kiarostami (a filmmaker) making a film about Sabzian.

The Cold Spot -- Mirror, Mirror
Occasionally, the film strikes a chord in its portrayal of the unpopular side of high school life, but much of that is too exaggerated to be effective.
The reasons behind the mirror's power are glossed over, and each murder is predictable and therefore not effective.

Austin Chronicle: An Interview With Jan Krawitz
In almost 25 years of filmmaking, the 46-year-old former University of Texas doc-maker, now at Stanford, has cut a wide swath through topics as diverse as the demise of the drive-in movie ( Drive-In Blues, 1986), women's body images ( Mirror Mirror, 1990), and the life experience of dwarves ( Little People, 1984).
Jan Krawitz: This film posed a lot of aesthetic challenges for me. Beyond constructing the narrative -- which took 21 drafts -- this was a film with no extant reality; the images had to be created and the two had to work together.
Your other films, including Little People, are more "fly on the wall," observational-style, where the subjects speak for themselves and the filmmaker's presence is not obvious.

In 1986 documentary film maker Ron Mann was intrigued by The Shadowy Men's visual edge, and invited them to tackle the score for Comic Book Confidential, a celluloid tribite to the vibrant, pioneering work of graphic artists like Sue Coe, Los Bros Hernandez, Lynda Barry, Robert Crumb, and Charles Burns.
Industry legend has it that Stan Ridgeway and the Wall of Voodoo didn't want to be a new wave band, but a collective hip film composers for hire.

 Martyrs Mirror. . .Study Guide
Suggests that the Martyrs Mirror be used as a tool for renewal by “looking at the martyrs, listening to their convictions and hearing their hymns.” Argues that we also must integrate a spirituality and social non-conformity which “bear the stamp of Jesus” and inevitably lead to a collision with society and the powers that be.

 Amazon.co.uk: DVD: Mirror Mirror [1990]
In a similar way to the orginal Halloween, and Nightmare On Elm Street (to some extent), a large part of the film is spent getting to know the characters - who's good, who's bad, and consequently, when something happens to one of them, you do actually care.
The script writer is no Shakespeare, but he's not someone's 12 year old nephew who's bored in his summer holidays, as seems likely in other films I have seen.
What made this film stand out above others of the genre was the characters that it creates.

 Mirror Mirror? - Rex Brynen
Cultural output is thus seen as a mirror of social and political inputs—a reflection of sorts of the fears, dreams, and preoccupations of society.
Star Trek, for example, is widely considered to be the most successful franchise in the history of television, broadcast in up to one hundred countries, and viewed by more people per day than read science fiction literature in five years (Spinrad 1990, 79).
By 1996, the proportion who believed that UFOs had visited earth had risen to 45% (Shermer 1997, 26; Nacomm 1997).

This thin film space technology may also find its way for other applications, for example, as a solar power satellite, passive reflectors, wake shield facilites, space debris protection shields and others.
An additional thin film reflector of much larger size (60-70 meters) will be incorporated to the outer spacecraft structure.
The deployment device accommodated a thin film reflector that was divided into eight sectors and wound on eight reels.
