On Wednesdays, Batman and his sidekick Robin would confront one of their archenemies and would end the episode in horrible danger, only to save themselves at the beginning of the next episode on Thursdays.
This time she came to save the show from falling ratings and not to protect Batman and Robin against accusations of a homoerotic relationship, as was the case for her creation by the comic book writers in the mid-1950s.
Interestingly, as in the two Batman movies released in the 1990s, this new animated series erased Robin from the scene, possibly responding to criticisms of the homoerotic subtext between the two heroes.

From the serials of the 40’s (featuring a Batman with droopy ears and an aging Boy Wonder) to the 90's Batman: The Animated Series, the Caped Crusader has been fighting crime in both television and movies on and off since the late Bob Kane created him in 1939.
This show only ran one season under the name The New Adventures of Batman; in the fall of 1977 it became The Batman/Tarzan Adventure Hour, and after one more year, Batman became just one of the elements of Tarzan and the Super Seven.
This ran until 1980 when Batman, who was used to having his name in the title of his shows, negotiated out of his contract with CBS and bolted for NBC.

Batman and Joker are almost the same, the artists just removed red from Joker's mouth and yellow from Batman's chest, and made Bat a little thinner.
They have one of their new villains, which is basically a blend of Bane and Captain Hook from Peter Pan to get some sorta strong South American smuggler of Aztec and Inca antiques, with a claw hand of course.
Also, I'm pretty sure Batgirl knew who Robin and Batman were at the end of one of her first episodes and they knew who she was; they all stood together and said sly things and looked at each other knowingly with smiles.

Lets start with the first animated "Batman" installment titled "The Adventures of Batman and Robin"(narrated by the great Ted Knight) which was part of "The Superman/Aquaman/Batman Hour" which premiered right after the TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward went off the air in 1968.
Here the dynamic duo continue their adventures which was mostly seen on Saturday mornings and I remember this show vividly as a kid.
But getting back to the new Batman format,this second installment of the Batman series(besides Superfriends) was by far the worst(not to mention pathetic) representation of Batman ever conceived and it shows if you see the episodes you know what I mean.
