Coca-Cola - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
New Coke stirred up a controversy when it replaced the original Coca-Cola in 1985.
Some authorities believe that New Coke, as the reformulated drink was called, was invented specifically to respond to its commercial competitor, Pepsi.
When New Coke was introduced in 1985, this had a severe impact on the economy of Madagascar, a prime vanilla exporter, since New Coke used vanillin, a less-expensive synthetic substitute.

Hitler   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-17)
Hitler's murderous fascism is not the sole property of the German people, although this misapprehension gave license to some of the worse of the Allied atrocities including the bombing of Dresden.
Hitler was able to summon his awesome powers of persuasion to convince the Germans (as well as a few English and American industrialists; Henry Ford was an anti--Semite) to motivate their innate anti--Semitism one step further to the extreme of actually seeing Jews as bars of soap and lampshades.
THE NEW ADVENTURES OF HITLER is an attempt to bring these points home by not copping to the iconisation of Hitler and by revealing the true face of fascism.

New technology is making possible the successful introduction of new systems of distribution for research reports and the creation of what can be-come personally designed journals for investigators.
These new systems, when they are created, must, of course, not ignore the reward and recognition aspects of the current system, nor sacrifice its methods of quality control and openness, which, as history reveals, were fostered from the very beginnings of the scientific revolution in the seventeenth century.

 Hitler's Viennese Waltz
Hitler makes the point himself in Mein Kampf, in which he offers elaborate panegyrics to Georg von Schönerer, the rancorous anti-Semite who founded the Austrian Pan-German movement, and to Karl Lueger, who was the fantastically popular anti-Semitic mayor of Vienna when Hitler arrived there.
She shows that, contrary to his own claims, Hitler's encounters with Schönerer's ideas and with the cult of Lueger were not brought about by an ability to hone in on salutary influences in the midst of a large, degenerate city.
We learn, for example, that Hitler's relations with the Jewish shopkeepers who sold his paintings (and by whom he is supposed to have been swindled) were hardly contentious, and that Hitler even gratefully acknowledged their generosity.

The beginning of his radical adventures dates back at least as far as 1916, his last year at Harvard, and possibly earlier.
In the public eye, however, if not his own, his association with The New Masses and with the radical writers of the New Playwrights Theatre from 1927 to 1929, linked him with the revolutionary movement; and his own Airways, Inc. (1928) -- packed with suicides, frame-ups, electrocutions -- was a horrendous diatribe against capitalist institutions.
In creating this new myth, however, Dos Passos seemed to subordinate people to conditions, to be concentrating on the disaster rather than on the people concerned.
