		Sure, it's what all the kids are doing these days, but Vancouver's New Pornographers are one of the few--along with the Shins--to get the balance right.
		Though the New Porgraphers rarely remind me of specific bands in their songs, "Use It" reminds me a lot of the Plimsouls, though that might just be the result of sleep deprivation.
		I've had nearly 6 months with this record now and am convinced that it is the New Pornographer's masterpiece, though I believe (and hope) that the best is still yet to come.

		Their sound is highly influenced by such power pop bands as The Cars and Cheap Trick, although their songs are generally of a greater melodic and harmonic complexity.
		My favorite things about the New Pornographers is how Dan Bejar tries to fit in.

		The New Pornographers' debut album was the stuff of legend, a near-perfect collection of catchy songs filled with lush sonics, anthemic sing-alongs, and retro pop hooks.
		Perhaps it is Case's non-Vancouver residence that keeps her from assuming more of the vocals, but if she were to do all the singing, this band would be almost impossibly great.
		The great news for anyone who loves this album is that the band has two other albums that are at least as good as this one, perhaps even better.

	The New Pornographers: Twin Cinema: Pitchfork Record Review
		Newman is once again at the wheel for the majority of the LP, furthering the notion that the New Pornographers are just Zumpano with added starpower.
		The added rhythmic complexity is just one way in which the New Pornographers successfully tweak established formulas and set themselves apart.
		They'd be great in their own right, but by comparison to the plagiaristic, closed-minded, infinitely repeating world of power pop, it's all the more special an accomplishment.

		Maybe New Pornos can only be in town that one day and Neko doesn't want to play two sets in the same day.
		If she were to play with the new pornographers, wouldn't it seem logical to have her band play a set too?
		I love the New Pornographers but Neko Case solo is even better.
