The Open Mind were a London-based psychedelic rock band active in the 1960s and 1970s.
Shortly thereafter, they changed their name to The Open Mind and in 1969 released a self-titled LP which has since become a highly sought-after collectible.

 Keeping an Open Mind
One of these styles is what we've now learned to call `closed source' — the traditional factory-production model of proprietary software, in which the customer gets a sealed block of bits which cannot be examined, modified, or evolved.
The other is `open source', the Internet engineering tradition, in which source code is generally available for inspection, independent peer review and rapid evolution.
We've seen that open source puts the software customer in the driver's seat, dramatically lowers total cost of ownership, and is the only recipe that works for high reliability.

There does not seem to be anything wrong with her program, but my opinion is that a book titled "The Open Mind" should be about how to handle new experiences with integrity and vision.
Based on her work as a hypnotherapist, Markova has extended the idea of three channels of communication -- auditory, visual, and kinesthetic -- by matching them to the conscious, subconscious, and unconscious mind, producing six personality types: A in the conscious, V in the sub, and K in the un, with permutations of those.

Alito: 'Open Mind' On Abortion - CBS News
(CBS/AP) Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito said Tuesday that he would deal with the issue of abortion with an open mind as a justice, though he defended his 1991 judicial vote saying women seeking abortions must notify their husbands.
The issue has been at the forefront since the revelation that President Bush had secretly ordered the National Security Agency to conduct wiretaps of Americans in the terror war without warrants.
Bush's choice for the high court told the Senate Judiciary Committee that his Reagan-era writings opposing abortion reflected an attorney representing a client's interests and, if confirmed and faced with an abortion case, "I would approach the question with an open mind." (video)
