Around 1976-77, the BII Council was of the opinion, that as a major Institute, Belfast should have a Chain of Office commensurate with its status.
It was therefore decided to mark Jubilee Year by casting off the "faded and worn maroon ribbon of the past" which had supported the presidential jewel and replace it with "a bright and durable chain" for the future.
This is surrounded by an oval, enameled in royal blue and inscribed "Chartered Insurance Institute - Incorporated 1912" The oval frame is surrounded by a Laurel Wreath partly open pierced.

Belfast Celtic were formed in 1891 and from 1901 onwards played at Celtic Park in West Belfast.
Celtic Park was a huge oval shaped arena capable of holding 50,000 fans in its prime.

Already a proven goalscorer with 264 in 317 appearances for the RUC, Gary quickly found his goal-touch at the Oval, scoring 4 goals in a pre-season match against Dundela, and scored his first competitive goal in only his secnd match away to Bangor.
By the end of his first season Gary had scored 28 goals, won Co. Antrim, Irish Cup and Gold Cup medals and was selected for the Irish League team v the League of Ireland.
Over the next four seasons, Gary still found the net regularly until he decided to hang up his boots in senior football and return to RUC in August 1994, where he still regularly found the net.
