  The Paper Chase
The paper chase is a way to help bypass government purchased pre-packaged news, as well as the mainstream media's lack of substantive reporting.
What the paper chase asks people to do is to simply: print, copy, and leave news wherever you go on a daily basis for twoweeks.
You are not limited to the sponsors of the Paper Chase, so long as you respect copyright.

The Paper Chase (By Jim Motavalli)
The pulp and paper industry is the third-largest industrial polluter in both Canada and the U.S., releasing more than 220 million pounds of toxic pollution into the air, ground and water each year.
International Paper, for instance, issued a Sustainability Report in 2002 that cites its role as “among the largest owners of sustainably managed private forestland in the world.” Its raw material is trees, the report says, “the world’s greatest renewable resource.” It participates in forest certification programs and voluntary partnerships and strictly adheres to environmental regulations.
There is vast potential for a “green” paper industry, including recycled and natural fibers, that could not only spare trees but also produce paper with minimal environmental impact overall, but it needs an infusion of both public interest and research funding.

One of the strongest advocates for kenaf paper in the U.S. is Vision Paper, which planted its first experimental kenaf plots in 1990 and began producing tree-free paper in 1992.
Vision Paper has completed a feasibility plan to build a kenaf processing plant in the U.S., and Rymsza says that such a plant could be operating within three years of financing.
With activism against the use of old-growth timber increasingly finding receptive ears, and the already embattled paper industry suffering the double trouble of low pulp prices and devastating insect infestations on their southern plantations, the time would seem to be propitious for a revival of natural fibers.

But there also was no paper trail, no piece of paper for voters to review to ensure their votes had been recorded accurately, and there was no stack of ballots for poll workers to count and check the results.
Without that paper trail, some say, no one would be the wiser if software had been tampered with or if machines had been rigged or simply had malfunctioned.
That is why Alexander and others are pushing for a "voter-verified paper trail." They say that voting systems need to produce a piece of paper that the voter can review at the time of the vote, and that systems need to store a hard copy of the ballot for later use by election officials.

Gamasutra - Feature - "The Paper Chase: Saving Money via Paper Prototyping"
Giles Schildt, recently departed as director of game development at Austin-based Steve Jackson Games, publisher of games and rulesets such as GURPS and Munchkin, defined change as a necessary part of game design, and argued that the earlier the changes are made in the design process, the easier and cheaper they are to make.
The paper version of the game will never ship, of course, but the two to 12 hours Schildt used as an example for how much time a low-skill intern would have to spend documenting the “analog” game will cost the same as about 15 minutes of a programmer's time in terms of salary.
Paper prototypes also help expose the eventual game's core mechanics in a way that everyone can understand, including testers, who can be easily left in the dark about how the “real” game is supposed to work.

Papers land here when they enter your office or when you don’t know what to do with them.
You’ll save a lot more paper (and more money from office supply budgets) if you hold on to those outdated memos, faxes, and letters, and use the opposite sides for scrap paper and less important memos or notes of your own.
Most of what we have on little sheets of paper would be of more value recorded in our calendars, so whatever type of system you use (Day-Timer, Franklin Planner, etc.), make sure there’s enough room to write down both your appointments and your action list.

The pas-de-deux between paper supply and demand is taking center stage this month, as newspaper publishers brace for a 20 percent to 25 percent increase in the cost of newsprint.
Most newspaper magnates, though reticent to say exactly how much they fork out for paper, acknowledge it to be one of the major publishing costs.
Some say that the effects of next month's price jump may also be delayed by the fact that many papers negotiate price contracts in advance to hedge against sudden rises—thus we don't know where the paper trail will end.
