 William Shakespeare: The Passionate Pilgrim
In "the Passionate Pilgrim," some critics find difficulty in tracing the hand of the poet; and we accidentally discover by the complaint of Heywood, a congenial dramatist, that there were two of his poems in one edition of this collection; and we know that there were also other poems by Marlowe and Barnefield and others.
Heywood tells us that Shakespeare was greatly offended at this licentious use of his name; but he must have been imperturbably careless on such matters, otherwise he would not have suffered three editions of this spurious miscellany.
Swinburne cannot afford to scorn "Sweet rose, fair flower, untimely pluck d soon vaded" which again only occurs in "The Passionate Pilgrim." These nine numbers, with "The Phcenix and the Turtle," make up more than half the book.

A Passionate Pilgrim - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Passionate Pilgrim is a novella by Henry James, first published in The Atlantic Monthly in 1871.
The story was the earliest fiction that James included in the New York Edition (1907-09) of his works.
James's fiction would often show imaginative characters getting near the dense, "passionate" experience they desire, only to find that such experience can be destructive as well.

Poetry: 'Passionate Pilgrim' by Gary Young
Most of Everson's poems beg to be declaimed, and A Canticle to the Waterbirds, written shortly after his conversion and overflowing with passion became Everson's signature poem at readings.
Gelpi stresses the benign aspect of the relationship, but there is something Gnostic, even perverse to all this approach and avoidance.
Certainly Everson's mystical longing was peaked, but so, too, was his passionate ardor for the unattainable female.

 TIME.com: Passionate Pilgrim -- Dec. 2, 1946 -- Page 1
Thomas' poetic ancestors include druids, sun worshipers, fertility ritualists, wizards of Welsh folklore, psalmists and hymnists, the Bible.
To this complex half-pagan, half-devout inheritance, Thomas has added more up-to-date influences—the intense experience of his boyhood in the Welsh countryside, his passionate faith in the Freudian conception of life as a struggle between the desire to procreate and the desire to find oblivious peace in death.
Wholly absent from his poems are humor and political ideology: he reduces his rich and strange harvest of influences and beliefs simply to a "record of my individual struggle from darkness towards some measure of light"—the struggle of any natural growth:

The Passionate Pilgrim is filled with such moments, and many passages are taken up again in Shakespeare’s play Love’s Labours Lost (one of the plays I have yet to read, actually).
In The Passionate Pilgrim Shakespeare takes up some of the same themes and scenes found in Venus and Adonis.
The basic story, which is drawn from Ovid’s Metamorphosis, features a beautiful young hunter named Adonis and Venus the goddess of love and beauty.

Eric Morecambe - The Passionate Pilgrim
The Passionate Pilgrim was designed to be a story in three parts, with each part set in a different era, and each story revolving around successive generations of eccentric Lords in a castle (each Lord played by Eric Morecambe) and each trying to woo a damsel while repelling the advances of a rival suitor.
The Passionate Pilgrim started shooting at Hever Castle in Kent, with Eric Morecambe playing the ‘silly Lord’, Tom Baker (then just out of Dr Who) the randy Knight, and Madeleine Smith the fair Damsel.
