The SF Site Featured Review: A Path of Daggers
A Path of Daggers is the eighth book in Robert Jordan's epic series, The Wheel of Time.
Yet, after reading A Path of Daggers, I found myself wishing that Jordan had succeeded in his original goal of completing the story in eight books, rather than the current estimate of twelve.
In A Path of Daggers, however, Perrin continues to struggle with being a lord.

Robert Jordan's bestselling Wheel of Time epic is one of the most admired fantasy progression of all spell for a reason.
But with the prior book, Crown of Swords, and now with Path of Daggers, the progression is in a spot of a property pattern.
Path continues the halting way of walking of the contemporary outline line: Rand is still on the edge of bringing up the rear it, all the while juggling the opinionated maneuverings around him and again captivating to the sphere against the Seanchan.

Up to the end of Crown of Swords, the Wheel of Time was the greatest fantasy saga ever written, eclipsing every other major fantasy work out there, even Lord of the Rings, with its ambition and the quality of its writing and characterisation.
Path of Daggers is such a colossal fall from grace that it's hard to actually accept.
Also, although the two subsequent novels lacked the incident of Path of Daggers, they were considerably better written, so it doesn't get any worse than this (and there are a lot of novels far worse than this, cough cough Eddings/Goodkind/Brooks).

In TPoD we got some new information which throws new light on the case of Asmodean's murder.
The PoV from Graendal in [TpoD, New Alliances] is not that interesting from the point of Asmodean's death: Asmodean isn't mentioned at all, and neither are we given any news about that the DO allegedly promised her Nae'blis-hood.
The most important news is that my observation from LoC that Graendal didn't meet Shaidar Haran on her earlier visit to Shayol Ghul where the DO "all but promised to name her Nae'blis" proved to be correct.
