The Pegasus (TNG episode) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Pegasus is a seventh season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
The episode features one of William Riker's previous commanding officers, Admiral Erik Pressman (played by Terry O'Quinn), who may know the location of the USS Pegasus, a missing starship that they previously served aboard.
The plot of this episode was inspired by the story of the Philadelphia Experiment.

These Are the Voyages... (Enterprise episode) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In this episode, Captain Archer and the Enterprise return to Earth to sign the documents that will establish the United Federation of Planets, at the same time the Enterprise is due to be decommissioned.
The episode does not explain why no one such as the MACOs came to the rescue during the incident, however in the context of the episode, Riker (and, by extension, the viewers) were only able to see what was happening to Trip.
Another problem rests with a line spoken by Troi near the end of the episode, in which she comments that the treaty being signed "would lead to the Federation," implying it was not actually the Federation charter that was being signed, and thus the six-year time jump wasn't necessary from a story point of view.

Already, before the episode was produced and aired, the writers of the Star Trek Encyclopedia stated that antigrav thrusters were used in the ascent of Voyager from a surface, and that the landing pylons merely provided additional stability while being on the surface.
It has been shown in several TNG episodes and mentioned in the STTNG Technical Manual that the holodeck does not only project light or forcefields, but is also capable of actually creating matter.
An interphase generator was installed in the USS Pegasus in 2358, although cloaking devices are prohibited in the Federation according to the Algeron Treaty (TNG: "The Pegasus").

Starfleet Judge Advocate General - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Judge Advocate General (often shortened to JAG) is an office of the United Federation of Planets, charged with overseeing legal matters within Starfleet.
The Judge Advocate General's office presided over the investigation into the loss of the USS Stargazer in 2355, and the mutiny aboard the USS Pegasus three years later.
Rear Admiral Bennett was the JAG in 2373 who ruled on Richard Bashir's criminal actions when he appealed to the Federation Supreme Court, regarding the resequencing of his son, Julian's DNA.

Several sets from TNG have been reproduced for a number of scenes aboard the Enterprise-D, much the way the TOS sets were reproduced for "In a Mirror, Darkly." The emotional nostalgia is present and accounted for.
The whole episode builds up to a speech that Archer is scheduled to deliver, and just as he's walking out to deliver it, Riker interrupts with, "Computer, end program." The sound you heard immediately after that line was fans across the country throwing objects at their television sets.
Perhaps ending two episodes in a row with a speech by Archer would not have been ideal, but the anticlimax of ending the story *before* the would-be dramatic payoff is just flat-out wrong.

Never mind that Picard had to make a universe-saving-decision, perhaps the greatest aspect of the episode was the Q-induced temporal conundrum that gave us a somewhat poignant look at the possible futures of the crew, with Worf and Riker both bitter over the death of the woman neither married, Deanna Troi, Dr.
However, in this episode we see Lwaxana Troi in a different light — one of complete sympathy — when it is revealed that she had another daughter, previous to Deanna, named Kestra.
The tragedy of the Troi family is then revealed — Kestra drowned at a young age and Lwaxana's guilt forced her to suppress the memory for years until an encounter with the Cairn species, a telepathic race.

It seems to be that of the Pegasus, which has apparently been pulled into one of the asteroid's fissures.

The ceremony witnessed at the end of the episode is apparently not the signing of the Federation Charter, as is commonly believed, but rather the signing of the charter ratifying the Coalition of Planets, which soon lead to the formation of the Federation.
In the TNG episode, Riker is injured in a holoprogram in which he was fighting Worf with a holographic bat'leth, although the program is never seen.
Riker is told that the Pegasus was not destroyed in the earlier episode, moments after Pressman beams aboard the Enterprise-D. In this episode, Riker and Troi visit the holographic re-creation of the Captain's Ready Room aboard the NX-class Enterprise.

Since the TNG series, it seemed that a Star Trek series really became a Star Trek series and accepted by fans once there was at least one tie in episode with the original TOS characters.
TNG had McCoy in the pilot episode and Scotty in 'Relics', DS9 used special effects footage in their Trials and Tribble-ations episode to interact with the TOS characters, and Voyager had Sulu in 'Flashback'.
Since the TNG series, it seems like that it has taken about three to four seasons for the spin offs to find their ground and be successful.

Joe also suggests that by the time of TNG warp fields have been refined to the point that the chi factor is dropped from the formula.
This clearly shows that the TNG production staff used the established warp scale when they calculated the travel time, and the 6-hour discrepancy can be explained by the use of a less accurate value for the speed of light.

The episode is essentially 45 minutes of backstory for Data, servicing another weak and quick-and-easy premise that tries to illuminate one of the crew’s family tree.
Had this episode focused on a single universe shift with more time spent on their relationship, the episode would have been far more successful and touching.
The episode’s best scenes are a delightful surprise birthday party for Worf in the show’s teaser, and a scene where Troi gives Worf an unwelcome peck on the cheek in one of the alternate universes.

The Pegasus was a great way to see how Riker has progressed since becoming a Starfleet officer, and for the first time I'm aware of, seriously divided his loyalties.
It is a great episode that requires you to think (aren't many shows that do that these days) about what is going on.
And Pegasus Part II (These are the Voyages on ENT) was good as a TNG episode, but a really bad way to end ENT.

Secondly, the TNG-era framing story for this episode is set during the events of the seventh season TNG epsiode The Pegasus.
Troi is sporting a straighter, more natural hairstyle far closer to what she had in the movies than the heavily permed style of the original show, while Riker's hair is less slicked back and comes complete with a Superman-style forelock falling across his forehead.
But if they're going to not just pander to the old TNG fans by bringing back Troi and Riker, but then actually place their framing story within an already existing episode, you'd think they could take a few minutes to pop the DVD in and do their best to match the actors appearances.
