This nicely refurbished knocked through one room pub was previously closed and burnt out.

There is hardly enough room on the walls of the rear snug to display all the awards that this pub has won and some are very prestigious.
There is a public bar, a grande lounge, a smoke and news room frivolously named Brahms & Liszt and the upstairs dining rooms, all decorated in the classic Victorian garishness, with engraved windows, ornate ceilings, mosaic tiled floors (look out for the RC -- Robert Cain, in the mosaic) and elaborate mahogany carvings.
In the grande lounge is a decorative plaster work that runs around the room called 'The Murmor of the Sea' and a decorative frieze and caryatids all desined by Charles Allen.
