Pingry is a private K-12 school located on two campuses in north-central New Jersey.
We call it the "Lower Campus" or the "Lower School." From seventh grade on, the students are at the Upper Campus in Martinsville, New Jersey.
Pingry was originally founded in 1861 as an all-male school in Elizabeth, New Jersey and later moved to nearby Hillside.

Pingry School competes in the Colonial Hills Conference which is composed of eighteen public and parochial high schools covering Essex County, Morris County and Somerset County in west central New Jersey, under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).
The turquoise bricks that compose the school's central clock tower were originally supposed to be navy blue, but by the time the incorrectly colored paint arrived it was too late to make a change.

The school had band class as well as music, and I took trombone for two years, which was fun, but disturbingly loud when practiced at home, and I never took it seriously enough.
For those unfamiliar with this feature of boarding schools, there was always a resident masster, or teacher, with his family, in each dormitory, or one per floor or even one at each end of each floor in larger buildings.
Now that I was at Pingry, and living in New Jersey, I was able to take advantage of the generoaity of a friend of my mother who offered me several tickets per year to go to the Saturday matinee performaces at the old Metropolitan Opera (long before Lincoln Center, which I've never attended).

 Bridgewater Sports Arena - Central New Jersey's Premiere Ice Sports Arena
Many middle schools have formed teams to help the students to prepare for the fast paced action of high school hockey.
The league, which mirrors the high school league by starting their season in late November, had six teams competing in the inaugural year and is up to two divisions and 10 total teams in its third year.
Bridgewater Sports Arena created the league to offer the opportunity for schools to play competitively, and their hope is that in the future the league will have participants from all over New Jersey.
