Telegraph News Copeland sues over Doors tour sacking
Stewart Copeland, the former drummer with The Police, is demanding $1 million (£630,000) compensation for being sacked from the first reunion tour of the iconic 1960s band The Doors.
The noisy and extrovert Copeland, the son of a CIA agent who settled in England in 1975 and founded The Police with Sting, had been expected to be a hit on the tour, which follows recent hugely successful reunions by bands such as Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles.
Copeland, 50, claims that the band exploited his "credibility, talent and reputation" before he was dismissed "without cause', according to a lawsuit lodged in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Live in New York City, a two-disc set recorded during the final two performances of the E Street Band’s reunion tour last June, contains a little of everything: new material, obscure album cuts, and new versions of some old hits.
The song drew a boycott by the New York City Police Association, who protested that the song suggested a case of racial profiling.
The album’s release coincided with a 2-hour concert special (a first for the Boss) that aired on HBO April 7, featuring footage taped over the last two nights of Springsteen’s 10-night stand at Madison Square Garden, which concluded a yearlong world tour.

The news of the 1775th Military Police Unit's extension was hard for everyone in the Michigan National Guard, said Capt. Dawn Dancer, the guard's spokeswoman.
Last week, their mom, Charity Wright, 29, learned that the Pontiac-based Michigan National Guard unit that her husband, Jeffrey Wright, is in would have its deployment extended for the third time.
Dancer said the Michigan National Guard offers more family support than in the past and has eight regional facilities in the state where troops' family members can call anytime for help.

Morris captures that day's short-lived Pistols gig but not the police raid where everyone except the band was hauled off for disturbing the peace, an omission that reinforces the Pistols' image as Kings of the Moment.
