This was prompted in part by a nasty car accident involving all the band apart from Jones and the fact that Jones remained in the US when the rest of the band went back to the UK.
Their song "Join The Professionals" was covered by The Epoxies.

This band would be made up of the most talented, energetic young players in the Metroplex, and they would play all styles of music including funk, jazz, popular music with a big band feel, and yes, even the occasional march.
The latter location soon proved to be the spot the band became famous for, because the band timed their arrival in the area with the southern palace crowd exit.
The Band also appeared in, and recorded the soundtrack for a Television commercial, was featured on the morning show of a local FM radio station, and won first prize for a musical group in the Arlington Fourth of July Parade.

This re-issue contains the whole Professionals catalogue, as the band disintegrated in 1982 after 2 short American tours and a handful of gigs in the UK.
The band was wracked with more bad luck more than controversy - in the middle of the first American tour, Cook, Meyers and McVeigh were seriously injured in a car crash.
They include Join The Professionals, the centerpiece song of the cult film Ladies And Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains, the singles 1-2-3 and Just Another Dream, and covers of White Light, White Heat and Baby, I Don't Carethat prove catchier than the regular album.

McLaren offered to manage the duo if they put together a band, which led to the entrance of singer Johnny Rotten and bassist Glen Matlock, and the formation of the Sex Pistols.
After a proposed band with Sham 69 members Jimmy Pursey (vocals) and Dave Tregunna (bass) failed to work out, Jones and Cook enlisted the help of bass player Andy Allen, and launched their first real post-Pistols band, the Professionals.
But while on tour in the U.S. later in the year, Cook and a few of his bandmates were seriously injured in a car accident, icing the supporting tour, and eventually leading to the group's breakup in 1982.
