Queen Elizabeth II is the fortieth monarch since William the Conqueror obtained the crown of England.
The Queen was born at 17 Bruton St, London W1 on the 21st April, 1926, was christened on the 29th May, 1926 in the Private Chapel at Buckingham Palace and was confirmed on the 28th March, 1942 in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The Queen of the Damned - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Queen of the Damned is a novel by Anne Rice.
Aaliyah (who played the undead Queen) had died in a plane crash, by the time the film was released.
The 2002 film deviated from this storyline and killed off some of the characters, including Mael, Pandora, and nearly Armand, but none of those gathered at Sonoma died apart from Akasha in the novel.

 The Queen at 70
Queen Elizabeth II was 70 on April 21, 1996 and has reigned for 44 of those years.
The Princess, not knowing what cards fate was dealing for her, probably became Queen while filming wildlife from the observation post known as Treetops, overlooking a waterhole in the Aberdare Forest game reserve, in Kenya, 3000 miles from frost-shrouded Sandringham House back in Britain where her much loved father had died in his sleep.
The schedule was so energetic that the Queen lost quite a few pounds in weight and a number of her outfits, which had become too loose, had to be altered en route.

This film is not in the same ballpark with "Interview With the Vampire," the previous adaptation of an Anne Rice vampire chronicle novel.
In "Queen of the Damned" the sexual tension is played out between the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (played by Stuart Townsend) and Akisha (played by the late Aaliyah of "Romeo Must Die") and the mortal Jesse Reeves (Marguerite Moreau).
Akisha is the mother of all vampires, the queen of the damned, as it were.

 Queen of the Damned (2002)
The Queen of the Damned is as far as I made it in the Anne Rice chronicles.
Unfortunately, in the world of the film, it breaks all of the Vampire rules, and the world's remaining bloodsuckers are none too happy about it, determined to descend upon Lestat at his much hyped Death Valley concert and kill him for his betrayal of them.
While the film takes its time in setting all this up and manages to include the gist of The Vampire Lestat in a short sequence, once the arrow is shot, it flies toward its target way too quickly, dumping all of the complexity and history and everything else Rice so carefully crafted in the book.

 Queen Christina (1933)
Queen Christina (1933) is one of Greta Garbo's quintessential, most-remembered screen portrayals (and one of her finest films), with glowing scenes (enhanced by her favorite cinematographer William Daniels) that reflect the mystique of the lovely, enigmatic actress.
The plot, ending with the Queen's abdication from her kingdom and self-imposed exile and withdrawal (for the ill-fated love of a Spanish nobleman-envoy), in order to follow her heart to Spain (to return her slain lover to his homeland), prophetically echoed the same sort of conflict that Garbo struggled with in her private life.
Taglines advertising the film proclaimed: "A 17th century maiden who loved with a 20th century madness," and "She was crowned King of Sweden...lived and ruled as a man...But surrendered to Love." Since the actual Queen Christina of Sweden (1626-1689) was bisexual in orientation, this provided the story with a pretext for its lesbian leanings.

River Queen is among more than 300 films showing at the Toronto Film Festival including a a murder mystery surrounding a 1950s lounge act, which took centre stage on Tuesday.
The film jumps between the 1950s, when the duo were at their peak, and the 1970s, when a reporter, played by Alison Lohman, tries to unlock the mystery of the dead woman.
But styling the film as a murder mystery is new territory for the Canadian director, who readily acknowledges he's hoping Where the Truth Lies will have more commercial appeal than his previous movies, which have mostly received critical acclaim but middling box-office success.

 The Queen of the Damned
Its sweaty mythmaking matched by its thirty-something-decade whining, the film substitutes blood for semen in its kinky puerility (a rose-petal love scene is a classic in scarlet euphemism) and becomes boring and pat when it should've been trashy and unapologetic.
The Queen of the Damned functions much better as a sociological exercise than a narrative, much in the same way as the badly overwritten Anne Rice historical melodramas (sort of Tolkien with bodice-ripping and for vampire mythology) upon which it is based.
The Queen of the Damned suffers from the same brand of confusion as the loneliness and fear that fosters a wish for a Don Juan superhero invulnerability.

The Queen of the Damned is no exception to the rule, despite attempts to become something more, but it still manages to deliver a fair bit of vampire fun.
The Queen of the Damned stars Stuart Townsend as the vampire Lestat, a character first made popular in film by Tom Cruise in the engaging Interview With the Vampire.
Sadly, this is most obvious in the case of the film’s weakest link, the Queen of the Damned herself.
