He and his fellow lodge members have their own TV show (which is more or less the show itself), in which they give humorous lessons and demonstrations in repairwork and outdoor activities (like fishing and camping), and advice for men on relating to women, among other things.
Green often uses duct tape in these projects; in one episode, he even tried to duct tape the Ontario-Quebec border as a potential solution to Quebec separatism.
Red often recites small bits of poetry in the woods, and the segments were named depending on the season and a humorous twist on a famous saying.

 Red Green's Duct Tape Forever
But while the Red Green show, modest though it is, understands precisely what can be done within its means, the atrocious Red Green movie is so clearly a cash-grabbing afterthought that it appears to have been shot and edited over a kegger weekend at Steve Smith's cottage.
This means that Red (Steve Smith) and the gang must abandon the swift movements of the show, which dart from skit to story in an attempt to keep things moving.
Red Green's Duct Tape Forever is also unnecessarily convoluted: byzantine developments involving corrupt policemen, hired thugs, and kidnappings of Harold exist simply to justify the running time, and they reveal in their sloppy, mechanical nature the venality of the whole production, which is to capitalize on a property rather than to give any real pleasure.

After two seasons, the show was a cult hit, but the station had run out of funds for producing it and The Red Green Show was cancelled.
For every fan of the show who has viewed a familiar, too-close-to-home moment in Red and the cast's weekly mishaps, it should be refreshing to learn that Smith wasn't simply making fun of "handymen" in the show's weekly segments -- much of the material was inspired by his own life.
As The Red Green Show progressed through the years, Smith had the opportunity to meet many of the shows fans at events throughout North America and at the show's tapings in Toronto.
