This song could represent Rogue from the time she was dealing with surfacing memories in UXM 348 up to the resolution of the Dr. Agee storyline.
Could be applied to Rogue's frustration with her powers and seeming lack of acceptance of herself, especially dealing with her quest for a "cure" from Dr. Agee.
This could describe Rogue between UXM 348 and just before the Trial in UXM 350, with her renewed love for Gambit, her fear and wariness about the memories surfacing in her psyche, and a good dose of foreshadowing of what was to come.

Rogue Wave signify lo-fi on their debut album, but it could have been recorded in a state-of-the-art studio or a friend's attic, for all the listener knows.
The songs are mostly simple and acoustic guitar-based, and clock in under two minutes, saying what they need to and ending without much fanfare.
Most of the songs are in a minor key, and even a major-key chorus like the one in "Endgame" turns to a minor chord in the last bar, leaving a lingering tension to hang in the air behind it.

Finally, Song and Silence is of equal value to players and DM's alike, the artwork is first rate and the prose is entertaining as well as enlightening.

This one is a story song, a very sad story song, but I think Tibbett sings it near-perfectly and with all the emotion necessary for the story and Im did like the addition of the Shannon Quartet.
This is a song that would probably have been a hit then in the 1920s and it’s one that can be appreciated now especially for how Tibbett sings it.
This too is a wonderful song that I have heard many times over the years, though not in the same slow tempo as this or with such poignancy that Lawrence Tibbett brings to it.

I was just listening to the new song by Rogue Wave, "10:1", and it was followed immediately in my mp3 player by the title track off The New Pornographers latest album, Twin Cinema.
The Rogue Wave track sounded fine, driven by a bevy of keyboard sounds, it has a catchy melody wrapped in a slightly sticky sound.
But this 'good' song sounds as if it were recorded in a two-bedroom apartment with blankets over the band's heads when followed by Carl Newman and his band kicking through the front door of "Twin Cinema".

Today, alas, nothing remains of The Rogue Song save a three-minute comedy sequence featuring Laurel and Hardy; the rest, as was the case with hundreds of pictures of that era made with perishable nitrate film, was not preserved.
Fortunately, we do have recordings of the songs, especially the meltingly lyrical When I'm Looking At You, which was played in theatres across the country as a trailer for the film itself.
Glory Road and other songs of that genre have long since fallen out of favour, but to hear Tibbett's performance of it is even today a thrilling experience: nostalgic to those old enough to have heard him sing it in person, ear-opening to listeners of a younger generation.
