The Royle Family is something of a phenomenon - since making its debut on BBC2 last year it has quickly grown into one of the BBC's major hits and the thirds series was one of their main weapons in the Autumn 2000 TV schedules.
The first series covers the run up to Denise Royle (Caroline Aherne) and Dave Best's (Craig Cash) wedding and while this is the general backdrop for the episodes here, it's not really heavily focused on until the last of the series - the wedding itself.
If you said you couldn't identify with the Royle family you'd be lying - all of us will see something of ourselves within the characters in one way or another, or at the very least you'll know plenty of people who do!
