The film was followed by another sequel, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, made in 2006.
Now Santa (Tim Allen) is at the top of his game as Head Elf at the North Pole, and couldn't be happier.

 Santa Clause
If Santa claus is travelling from East to West, he has a 31-hour-Christmas Day, conditioned by the several timezones (which seems to be logical).
Consequently for every Christian household with good children Santa has 1/1000 seconds time for his work: park, jump out of his sleigh, come down the chimney, fill the socks, distribute the remaining presents under the Christmas-Tree, exterminate the leftover of the Christmas meal, climb up the chimney again and fly to the next house.
A 120 kg heavy Santa claus (which is ridiculously light after the description) would be nailed to the end of his sleigh - with a power of 20.6 million Newtons.

And it seems work as usual for the Walt Disney Company with their release of The Santa Clause, but what makes this project unique is the concept it uses, one that has never fully been developed on the big screen before.
The story for The Santa Clause is quite possibly one of the most original holiday films in years, which is surprising considering the concept is such a simple one that it is hard to believe that it has never fully been attempted before.

THE SANTA CLAUSE 2 - WIDESCREEN DVD
Scott Calvin (Allen) has been Santa since killing the previous Santa in the first movie--the king of a perverse cult of international cattle-call children in a set too gaudy for Toys, who themselves are micro-managed by an uncommonly tall Jewish elf (David Krumholtz).
Santa makes a plastic toy clone of himself (also, sadly, played by Allen) who, besides frightening all of the small children in the audience, becomes an epaulet-wearing despot intent on giving the kids of the world coal in their stockings (which, funnily enough, would be a boon for many children in the world).
For as bad as The Santa Clause 2 is, I say it's preferable to its predecessor; if the clueless filmmakers had a notion of the subversive images they were putting forth, this could've been a minor classic of the genre, no foolin'.
