London is the capital city of the United Kingdom and of England.

In 1885, the Science Collections were renamed the Science Museum and in 1893 a separate Director was appointed.
The museum is adjacent to the Natural History Museum and used to be connected to it by a public corridor, which is now closed.

The Science Museum is free, which probably explains a lot.
However if you want to wander past miles and miles of glass cases in the hopes of eventually stumbling across something that might be interesting then the Science Museum will let you do it all day.
Some of the exhibits are very shabby with notices that use typefaces that are museum pieces in themselves.
