Due to the rapid growth of Scouting and a desire to remove control from the publisher of the Scouting magazine, the Boy Scout Association was formed in 1910 by the grant of a charter by the United Kingdom Parliament.
Scouting was now a global phenomenon, with a Royal Charter of January 4, 1912 incorporating The Boy Scout Association throughout the British Empire with "the purpose of instructing boys of all classes in the principles of discipline loyalty and good citizenship".

 Ethiopia Scout Association - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Scout movement was first introduced in Ethiopia circa 1933, however the association was forced to terminate its activities due to the Second Italo-Abyssinian War of 1935-1936.
The Ethiopia Scout Association enxperienced its second demise in the early 1970s, when the marxist military regime Derg dissolved the association and confiscated its properties and funds, under the accusation that the values of faith enshrined in the Scout promises were incompatible with the philosophy pursued by the new regime.
The Ethiopia Scout Association was readmitted to the WOSM at the World Scout Conference in Greece in July, 2002, the result of ten years effort by Father Renzo Mancin, the Chief Scout of Ethiopia, commissioners and other members of the Ethiopia Scout Association, who worked to get the association recognized again at the world level.
