	Sigma 6 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The band went through a number of name changes including The Abdabs and The Screaming Abdabs but were unable to keep band members and the group broke up in 1965 when Metcalfe and Noble left the band.
		In the following months it became clear that Klose's jazz-influenced style was not compatible with Barrett's more improvisational free-form style, and Bob Klose left the band in the summer of 1965.
		The Screaming Abdabs was also the nom de plume used by Pink Floyd on unofficially sanctioned live bootleg recordings which were recorded directly through the mixing desk in concerts, including:

		Eric Partridge, in his Dictionary of Slang and Unconventional English, says that the screaming abdabs was a late 1930s expression for an attack of delirium tremens, but he doesn’t provide any evidence and that sense is otherwise unrecorded.
		Though it might be a complete coincidence, the similarity between the abba dabba of the title and abdab is too striking to be ruled out as a possible source.

		When this band split up, some members — guitarists Bob Klose and Roger Waters, drummer Nick Mason, and wind instrument player Rick Wright — formed a new band called Tea Set, and were joined shortly thereafter by guitarist Syd Barrett, who became the band's primary vocalist as well.
		Whilst Barrett had written the bulk of the first album, only one Barrett composition, the Piper outtake "Jugband Blues", appeared on the second Floyd album.
