Shining Path - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shining Path's stated goal is to replace Peruvian bourgeois institutions with a communist peasant revolutionary regime, presumably passing first through the Maoist developmental stage of New Democracy.
Between 1973 and 1975, Shining Path gained control of the student councils in the Universities of Tacna and Huánuco, and developed a significant presence in the University of Engineering in Lima and the San Martin de Porres University.
Shining Path mounted attacks against the infrastructure in Lima, killing civilians in the process, such as in 1983, when it sabotaged several electrical transmission towers, producing a citywide flout, and set fire to the Bayer industrial plant, destroying it completely.

 Shining Force - Re-Retroview
Shining Force was far different from its predecessor in that it was a tactical RPG, one of the first of its kind.
Tactical battles in Shining Force are turn-based, with turn order being determined by speed, naturally, and up to twelve of your characters being able to participate at once.
As I said, Shining Force was one of the very first TRPGs to come to American shores, when hardly anyone outside of Japan had any experience in the genre.

With "The Shining" he succeeds on all levels and delivers a film that warrants it's placement in the House of Horrors' Vault.
The film's plot is directly rooted in the framework of the novel, but Kubrick had to tailor it into a management sequence of shots that could be executed efficiently within the limitations of the day.
The budget for "The Shining" was $18 million and for the miniseries it was $25 million.

Shining is much better than the West Side Story one.
In the case of WSS, too little of the footage was used (given that style and the sound fx, ANY movie could be sold as a horror film) and some of the footage appeared to have been altered as well.
I'm in awe of Shining - it's not even like he picked innocuous moments from the original to remake into Lifetime channel romantic comedy; he took snippets of some of the creepiest scenes in the entire film and did it.

Shining Tears for PlayStation 2 Review - PlayStation 2 Shining Tears Review
Shining Tears is a decent hack-and-slash fun-fest with many available upgrades, but not that much combat meat to it.
Like other Shining games, Shining Tears takes place in a world of diverse races, rich with elves, wolf-men, winged-bird people, obstinate dwarves, strangely adorable and fluffy giants, and, of course, plenty of humans.
The look of Shining Tears is dominated by lots of well-done character art in the form of expressive portraits, simple environments with a clean, hand-drawn look to them, and small character sprites with sometimes bizarre, exaggerated animations.

Norway’s Shining is willfully nostalgic for a progressivism since become routine, but iterates it as if we didn’t get it in the first place.
In the Kingdom of Kitsch You Will Be A Monster doesn’t carry music in any new directions per se, but it’s a record of fetching synthesis and textural revision, blending the sound of early free jazz, 70’s English progressive rock, film music, and classical flourishes in a framework of post-industrial digital decay.
Their jazz chops are impressive, but conservative, stopping short of the genre’s most extreme explorations; their blistering rock riffage exists comfortably before the democratizing reductionism of punk and the unbridled expressivity of No Wave.

 The Shining (1980)
The Shining (1980) is creative director Stanley Kubrick's intense, epic, gothic horror film and haunted house masterpiece - a beautiful, stylish work that distanced itself from the blood-letting and gore of most modern films in the horror genre.
A four and one-half hour long, made-for-TV mini-series titled Stephen King's The Shining (1997), (with Steven Weber and Rebecca De Mornay), due to King's dissatisfaction, was a more literal rendering of the original source material, and included a famous topiary-animal attack scene.
As in many of his films, director Kubrick explores the dimensions of the genre to create the ultimate horror film of a man going mad, aspiring writer Jack Torrance (Nicholson), while serving as an off-season caretaker of an isolated, snowbound resort (the Overlook) with his family: wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and son Danny (Danny Lloyd).

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Shining named perfect scary movie
The Shining's isolated setting, with the family living in a huge hotel closed down for the winter, and the shower scene in Psycho, were perfect examples of the winning formula, experts said.
I doubt this horror equation though...The Shining is atmospheric but not that scary - Kubrick can't direct horror and miscasting and several key scenes where potential frightening moments are built up then frittered away for some reason make The Shining a flawed film.
Not seeing the complete monster is always a good thing...remember there was a scene in Alien cut because you could see the whole thing and it looked like a man in a rubber suit (which it was!)...without this image the film produced one of the scariest monsters of all time.
