The simpsons is one of the most famous t.v shows ever they released tons of stuff,dvds and more but they also made music albums and this was their first one they did.
As huge as a "Simpsons" fan as I am, I had gone for years without owning the notorious "Sing the Blues" album.
The Simpsons will always Rock and this is the one cd that anyone who and will always be a fan of should have this in there cd collection..

Geffen Records has released its long-awaited second collection of Simpsons music, "The Yellow Album." From its clever cover that's a parody of the most famous Beatles album to its varied selection of music, this is a satisfying -- although not a spectacular -- sequel to Geffen's 1991 hit album, "The Simpsons Sing the Blues."
The album is produced by John Boylan, who also produced "Sing the Blues," which sold 4 million copies and featured the smash hit "Do the Bartman."
Ann and Nancy Wilson are best-known as lead singers of the rock band Heart, Linda Ronstadt had a ton of country-rock hits in the 1970s; and the P-Funk All-Stars is an offshoot of funkmeister Clinton's (George, not Bill) 1970s band Parliament-Funkadelic.

If you are a Simpsons fan and feel like reliving the feeling of the Simpsons in the early nineties than you should buy this album.
The Simpsons will always Rock and this is the one cd that anyone who and will always be a fan of should have this in there cd collection..

You have to be completely aware of the two "kinds" of Simpsons records before you go hunting: if you want a Soundtrack of the show, an album to make you laugh, then Songs In The Key Of Springfield and Go Simpsonic With The Simpsons are what you're looking for (especially the former).
The first genuine "soundtrack" Simpsons album, this one is. With 39 tracks, clocking at 56 minutes, this CD includes songs featured in the show, along with bits of dialogue, some of Alf Clausen's orchestrated bits and even several "variations" on the closing theme, featured in a couple of episodes.
Not that she was all that present in The Simpsons Sing The Blues, but she did have 'Springfield Soul Stew', there.

In 1990, Geffen Records released "The Simpsons Sing the Blues," an ill-conceived pairing of the series' voice actors with various rock "names." The one-time novelty was closer to "Golden Throats" territory than the subversive spirit of the TV show.
The new disc collects original music and dialogue from "Simpsons" episodes, so fans now have digital versions of the "Itchy and Scratchy" theme, variations of the show's end credits, and ludicrous musical versions of "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "Planet of the Apes."
The dialogue is used effectively to contextualize the music, and no bit is overly long.
