The story of the Supremes can be traced back as far as 1958, when a trio of singers called The Primes, consisting of Eddie Kendricks, Kell Osborne and Paul Williams, were starting to make a name for themselves in the Detroit area and decided they needed a female version to go along with their act.
Diana set out on a 28 city tour in 1979 and released a new LP called "The Boss", her first without the assistance of Berry Gordy.
In the end, The Supremes are fondly remembered by most of us as a part of Motown's golden years, when they turned out hit after hit and kept the world dancing and singing their songs.

The U.S. Supreme Court announced this morning that it will not hear the U.S. Government's anti-trust case against Microsoft, referring the appeal back to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Microsoft is obviously happy with the decision, as this gives its lawyers a chance to argue their many-faceted case before a new, probably somewhat sympathetic set of judges, and still have a final avenue for appeal should Judge Jackson's initial findings and recommendations not be overturned.
I, for one, am glad I live in a country where the government can step in and set straight a company which is screwing up the entire technological landscape, and the natural order of capitalism on a level playing field.
