The Tailor of Death, according to reports by the journalist Gordon Thomas, is an unknown craftsman from the Palestinian Territories, perhaps from Jenin, who creates suicide bomber suits designed to balance distribution of explosive effect to cover the widest possible area.
The only suicide bombing to which he has been linked is that by Wafa Idris in 2002.
Investigations by Shin Bet and Mossad have been unsuccessful in identifying the Tailor of Death.
