The word Christ, Christos, the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Messias, means "anointed." According to the Old Law, priests (Exodus 29:29; Leviticus 4:3), kings (I Kings 10:1; 24:7), and prophets (Isaias 61:1) were supposed to be anointed for their respective offices; now, the Christ, or the Messias, combined this threefold dignity in His Person.

Sacred covenant making is associated with taking the name of Jesus upon oneself.
Dallin H. Oaks, also an apostle, further explained that "we take upon us the name of Christ when we are baptized in his name, when we belong to his Church and profess our belief in him, and when we do the work of his kingdom.

Consequently, the doctrine of the deity of Christ that Nicea propounded and the infallibility of Scripture that it implied were fabrications that came about because of the bishops' power brokering.
Taking his inspiration from authors like Picknett, Prince, Raigent and Lincoln, he presents a negative view of Scripture and a grossly distorted image of Jesus.

Therefore, because of this hermeneutical blunder, UPCI churches take and dissect the book of Acts, thoroughly disregarding the context and grammar, and thus deduce that baptism should only be done using the verbal formula, “in the name of Jesus” only.
God takes a dim view at pastors and teachers who preach an edited version of the Gospel; dodging judgment and apologetic passages in the Bible.
There are scores of verses that teach clearly: the righteousness of Christ is the sole grounds of justification (man excluded) and the sole means is faith alone apart from works.
