| | Adelante -- "The Tortilla Curtain" tells two stories |
 | | As immigration continues to be a divisive issue in communities across the United States, the novel “The Tortilla Curtain” — selected for Columbia’s “One Read” community-wide reading program — has prompted some thoughtful discussions on immigration. |
 | | In September, all MU freshmen, who were asked to read the book in preparation for their orientation week, had the chance to attend community discussion groups, hear Boyle speak during an on-campus lecture and see an art show, concert and film coordinated with One Read. |
 | | “The Tortilla Curtain,” is also being featured as the One Read selection in Fulton, Harrisburg and Ashland, Mo., whose libraries are also a part of the Daniel Boone Regional Library system. |
