	The Trashmen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The Trashmen were a rock and roll band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1962.
		The Trashmen's major notable hit was 1963's "Surfin' Bird", which reached #4 on the Billboard charts in the latter part of that year.
		The Trashmen went on to have 5 other hit singles on the charts; they would be prolific enough to later release a 4-CD box set of their work.

		I hold with some sentiment a particular collection of music by a band from the sixties called "the Trashmen," a band that unashamedly proclaimed themselves as the first surf band from Minnesota.
		The Trashmen Tests provide a line, and much in recorded musical media clearly stands on one side or the other of this separation.
		With the Trashmen Tests operating as neccessary conditions, they nonetheless fail as sufficient ones in pieces such as the aforementioned title.

		The first recorded evidence of the Trashmen to my knowledge is a tune called "Sally Jo" backed by "Cyclone" an awesome instrumental!
		The Trashmen, according to Tony Andreason, play a few shows from time to time, but mostly in The Minneapolis and Saint Paul area.
		I was so awestruck at meeting my idols I forgot to ask them much about the other guys from the area.I also learned that Steve Wahrer had been with a few bands and I'm not sure, but he might have been playing drums on the Blue Kats tune "Oh Yeah!" recorded on Gaity.

		Ain`t nothing like a bunch of guys getting together to share the love for surf-pop.
		This is like listening to The Beach Boys and the Trashmen playing "Wipe Out" but with a bit of Mersey-Beat(think Bobby Fuller) love thrown in - from beginning to end.

		If this sounds appealing (and there's no earthly reason it shouldn't), there are more delights within, although only "Bird Bath" attempts (unsuccessfully) to match the hit.
