 The Treniers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Treniers were an American musical group led by identical twins Cliff and Claude Trenier).
They were also known for the humorous content of many of their songs, and their on stage acrobatics were seen as precursors to the wild antics of many later rock and roll groups.
Nonetheless the group was considered a strong influence on bands such as their contemporaries Bill Haley and His Comets, and they were in fact one of the first to record Haley's "Rock-a-Beatin' Boogie".

Trenier, his identical twin Cliff (who died of cancer in 1983), Buddy (who died in 1999) and youngest brother Milt, who lives in Skokie and ran the now-defunct Milt Trenier's Lounge on Rush Street.
Trenier, who died Monday at age 84 of bladder cancer at a Las Vegas hospice, lived in that entertainment oasis for 55 years, shepherding his brothers through the Las Vegas Hilton, Riviera, the now-defunct Hacienda and Mint, the Frontier, Sahara, Tropicana and the Orleans.
The Treniers were one of the first fl groups to perform regularly in Las Vegas, which was still segregated at the time.

Trenier, whose group was one of the first fl acts to perform on the Strip, overcoming segregation policies of the 1940s and '50s to become the longest running act on the Las Vegas lounge circuit, died Monday of cancer at Nathan Adelson Hospice.
The Treniers were one of the first singing groups to choreograph their act, which inspired many of the doo-wop and Motown groups of the 1960s.
Cliff Trenier died in 1983 and Buddy Trenier died in 1999.

The Treniers were a well known lounge group that worked in Chicago for many years.
Louis, Trummy and the band begged Jimmy to stay with them...Jimmy was a swinging bass player but he felt allegiance to the Treniers and stayed with them.
The Treniers were a top La Vegas Lounge group duing the heyday.

The first time I personally watched the group perform was back in the 60's at the old Sahara Hotel.
Cliff and Buddy Trenier are no longer with us but their spirit continues with the remaining members in Claude and nephew Skip, who is 65.
The group was formed in 1948 and Skip joined them in the 50's and thereby became its youngest Trenier.
