I gotta say I like the building; it IS large, and it does loom a bit at street level, but the curved glass walls and setbacks equal to it's neighbors are nice touches.No, it's not as imporessive as the Calatrava spire, but that's a one-in-a-million deal.
This building will be a compliment to the skyline without be an austentashious edifess of over stated modern achitecture and yet it has a suttle hint of art decoe to blend with the overall diverse skyline that is Chicago.

That old Sun-Times building has been a scab on the river for way too long, and I think it's unreasonable to expect that particular parcel of land to be underdeveloped with some kind of low-rise solution.

Since I walk past the Sun-Times building every day, I thought I'd take some photos of it during its demolition and reincarnation as Trump Tower.
The river walk in front of the Sun-Times building is now inaccessible as is the small park next to the building,in front of McDonalds and inbetween the Sun-Times and the Wrigley buildings.
The demolition signs went up on the fences on Thursday and Trump came to town to officially start the tearing down of the building.
