Are Twins Delayed in Language Development?
The conclusion, then, is that twins should not be considered a special population that is differentially at risk for the mere fact of being a twin.
The pervasive assumption of the inferiority of twins in language originates with two papers from the 1930's which remain two of the largest studies to date of the language of twins as a group.
Fourth, the twins in this study were not always observed independently (i.e., separately), and the fact that two children of the same age were competing for the attention of the experimenter may have led to shorter sentences.

 The Twins Effect II
Though the 'Twins' return for the sequel, the genre tackled here is completely different; 'Twins Effect II' is a fantastical swordplay flick that takes places thousands of years in the past rather than a modern day comedy horror.
'Twins Effect II' cannot decide whether the narrative should be taken seriously or whether the tone should really be one of parody, while the appearance of two directors behind the lens clearly doesn't help the film's clarity.
Nonetheless, it's unfortunate that the concentration of the film is on the effects and the parochial 'comedy' and not the other virtues that used to be second-nature to Hong Kong cinema.

 The Twins Effect (2003)
Ostensibly, The Twins Effect is an action-comedy about a couple of vampire-killing cuties, with timeouts for comedy and romance, some kickass kung-fu choreography by Donnie Yen, and a mega-publicized cameo by Jackie Chan.
Taller Twin Charlene Choi is Helen, the sister to depressed vampire stalker Reeve, and a wacky sort of a girl.
If The Twins Effect came with any hype at all, it was that two cute girls would be occupying the screen with their enormous heads, and that there'd be some occasional fighting.

 NIDA - Publications - NIDA Notes - Vol. 18, No. 4 - Research Findings
The researchers identified 311 pairs of same-sex twins (average age 30) in which one twin first smoked marijuana before age 17 and the other twin had either never smoked the drug (77 pairs) or did so for the first time at age 17 or older (234 pairs).
Of the 311 twin pairs, 136 (74 female, 62 male) were identical and 175 (84 female, 91 male) were fraternal.
Overall, the researchers found, twins who smoked marijuana before age 17 were more than twice as likely as their sibling to use opioids, three times as likely to use sedatives, three times as likely to use cocaine or other stimulants, and nearly four times as likely to use hallucinogens.

The first Twins Effect was a number one grossing film in Hong Kong in 2003, so a follow-up proved to be an easy decision.
Twins 2 marks the debut of Jaycee Chan, son of international martial arts superstar, Jackie Chan, and while the resemblance is there, the physical talent is not, and neither is the comedic ability.
You need to have an extremely low threshold for entertainment to enjoy Twins Effect 2, and suffice it to say, the amount of people who will be blown away by the visual elements here probably rank in the millions around the world.

 trenchman.com - Movie Review - The Twins Effect 2
Moreover, the Twins have a pretty lousy track record when it comes to the movies they've both starred in: Summer Breeze of Love and Just One Look aren't totally awful, but Death Curse and Fantasia are absymal; the first Twins Effect, meanwhile, though I personally found it pretty entertaining, wasn't exactly brilliant cinema.
There's a bunch of wire-fu fights (inexpertly done, for the most part; the Twins are multi-talented, but the martial arts, I fear, are beyond them) and lots of flashy special effects, some of which look all right, but most of which look dopey and cartoony.
The Twins are cute, obviously, but even they couldn't save this sucker.

he Twins Effect 2" comes to us a year after the box office success of the "The Twins Effect", a movie about vampires; the sequel, set in ancient China, is a sequel in name only.
This scene alone earns the film an extra star; without it, "Twins Effect 2" is a pointless 1-star movie in search of a reason for taking up valuable space in the universe.
And for those wondering, "The Twins Effect 2" also marks the movie debut of Jaycee Chan, son of Jackie, the movie's producer.

Mainland Chinese censors view vampires (the enemy in the previous installment) with a bad eye, and since the film-makers did not want to cut out any of the movie's potential market, the story for this film was changed to erase any reference to the undead.
