| | The Verve |
 | | Verve was a British band who emerged in the early 90's with a totally unique, spacy sound, perhaps slightly resembling Syd Barret era Pink Floyd. |
 | | Verve (as they were then known) unleased their debut to an unsuspecting world in 1993, and, gasp, not that many people noticed, despite praise from critics and the support of a small, but unbelievably loyal group of fans, who, to this day, swear by this album and tell stories of how it changed their lives. |
 | | But this was a different Verve, and for proof, one just has to check the credits, with nine of the album's 13 tracks being written by Ashcroft, who leans much more to the catchy, poppy side of music more than the rest of the band. |
