Dead Man Walking is a work of non-fiction by Sister Helen Prejean, a Roman Catholic nun and one of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Medaille.
In 1995 a film, based on the book of the same name, tells the story of Sister Prejean (played by Susan Sarandon), who establishes a special relationship with Matthew Poncelet, a prisoner on death row (played by Sean Penn).
The project, titled The Dead Man Walking School Theatre Project, is managed by the Death Penalty Discourse Center where Sister Prejean now bases her work.

In a bit to simulate the type of walking dead from the recent movie remake of Dawn of the Dead, I've run into some puzzling questions, so I thought putting up the template I'd made might give me some feedback on what might be changed, left alone, or taken out all together.
ST + 4 - In the beginning of the film, when Ana is attacked in the bedroom by her husband (now one of the walking dead), he seems to put his head through the bathroom door quite 'easily'.
In the campaign I am planning the Walking Dead do operate on some level of instinct but it is completely in the form of continuation of their species.

Dead Man Walking, the first opera by composer Jake Heggie and playwright Terrence McNally, was commissioned by San Francisco Opera (Lotfi Mansouri, general director) and received its world premiere on October 7, 2000.
Dead Man Walking is really the stuff of grand opera: It's got overblown pathos, a fraught love story, a far-off location (the Deep South, distant to most of us) and a dramatic death at the end.
Dead Man Walking has been criticized for not taking any moral stance, but this seems hardly important when you listen to the recording, where the drama as conveyed through the music and the words is all that really matters -- and it matters a lot.

Whatever it is, the first issue of The Walking Dead has all the creepy moments of a good zombie flick, with plenty of mystery and a very likable protagonist to boot.
His assumptions that this is a passing thing and not a massive apocalypse are at the heart of the character and the book, as they speak to Rick's optimism as well as simultaneously giving the reader the feelings that things are much, much worse than we've seen thus far.
The Walking Dead reminds me in some ways, at least so far, of critical sensation Y: The Last Man, as it's about a horror post-apocalypse scenario that has been done many times before, but it has a sense of humor and a sense of humanity that makes it seem fresh and definitely grabs the imagination.
