TheOpenCD people have therefore devised a PHP-based system that generates these files automatically, combining content and layout.
Most of the applications included in TheOpenCD come with different translations and the user can change the language just after the installation starts, so you don't have to do nothing.
After you generate the files please compare the original version with your version and manually edit the html files to put the sentences that can't be generated automatically.

I have been trying to convince some of my friends that using open source software (even on Windows) is mucho better than using the MS warez they currently steal (stealing is bad, period).

Daniel pointed out TheOpenCD in my forums yesterday.
The people at TheOpenCD compile the best and most stable OSS (Open Source Software) on a single ISO image, which you can freely burn onto CD and install from a few simple menus.

Knoppix is a CD-bootable Linux operating system, which means that you can try it on your PC without installing anything on your hard drive.
It runs the K-Desktop Environment (KDE) by default, but also includes the GNU Network Object Model Environment (GNOME) and several others, for the more adventurous user, and has many of the same applications found on TheOpenCD, such as AbiWord, The GIMP, and OpenOffice.org.
