Theatre X's approaching 31st season will feature the company's most innovative and ambitious lineup in years.
Theatre X shares occupancy of the Broadway Theatre Center's Studio Theatre with the Chamber Theatre; the two companies negotiate their dates in the Studio.
Theatre X's second round of productions begins Feb. 22, 2001 with Lee Breuer's "Hajj." "Five by Beckett," a package of five Samuel Beckett one-act plays, opens the next night.

 Cardinal Stritch University Theatre - The Department
Rose Klassen, who is credited with starting the theatre major, was a director and costume designer at Stritch until she transferred to SUNY-Fredonia in 1985 and stayed there until her retirement in 2000.
The studio theatre space is used as a showcase for students to experiment and direct their own shows.
In the studio theatre, Oleanna was performed in October, Antigone in December and a "Scene Night" in May. For the first time in about fifteen years, a children's theatre show [Androcles and the Lion] was performed by Stritch theatre.

As part of the Theatre Department's ongoing goal to provide a comprehensive and world-class program in the performing arts, a new Writing Track has been created for students who are primarily interested in pursuing the goal of writing for the performing arts.
As Theatre majors in a writing track, student playwrights and screenwriters will be able to take classes in writing for the performing arts, acting, directing, and other production classes as requirements rather than having to fit them in as often-unavailable electives.
The minor in Theatre follows the structure of the major requirements by exposing students to each of the areas that are essential to the creation of theatre, with the opportunity to take an additional course for depth or more exposure.

Dramatic art too is a part of the extensive programme of the documenta X. During the initial days of the documenta X, theatre makers (directors, choreographers, composers) will be invited to Kassel for four days.
The works exhibited, the city and the impressions of the initial days of this important exhibition, can be an inspiration and thematic starting point for the participants, who will develop a scenic outline after their return from the initial days at the documenta X as a theatrical contribution.
These theatre outlines will be presented in a dramatised form at the end of the 100 day long exhibition in the shape of a theatre marathon.

Theatre X recreates the mood and honor the spirit of Milwaukee's nascent jazz era in the oral-history play JAZZ, written and directed by Artistic Director John Schneider, to be remounted by Theatre X April 8 through May 16.
The Studio Theatre at the Broadway Theatre Center will be transformed into a small cabaret with the audience as club patrons (with cocktail service provided!) Actors, playing the parts of the performers and club habitués that Schneider interviewed in his research, relate the bittersweet anecdotes with both saucy wit and poignant resignation.

 Our History - Eclipse Theatre Chicago
Eclipse Theatre Company was founded in 1992 when a group of theatre artists came together and asked "what if?" That "what if" evolved into the collaborative event Halfway Content.
In early 1993, Eclipse mounted its second show entitled An Interest in Strangers by John Schneider and Theatre X, directed by James Ostholthoff.
The new ensemble members of Eclipse modeled a mission statement after that of Signature Theatre Company in New York to focus on the works of one playwright in one single season.
