Thelypteridaceae is a family of terrestrial (Any of numerous flowerless and seedless vascular plants having true roots from a rhizome and fronds that uncurl upward; reproduce by spores) ferns.
These ferns typically have creeping (A horizontal plant stem with shoots above and roots below serving as a reproductive structure) rhizomes.
Similarly, Coryphopteris is included here in the genus Metathelypteris, Parathelypteris is included in Amauropelta, and a large group of genera are included in Cyclosorus.

 Thelypteridaceae
The Thelypteridaceae as a family includes those members formerly placed in the genus Thelypteris, sensu latu.
In fact, the entire family was at one time only considered to be a section or two of the genus Dryopteris (or Aspidium), a group to which it is actually only remotely related.
