Theora Jones - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Theora Jones is a fictional character on the television show Max Headroom.
Theora was Network 23's star controller and, working with the network's star reporter, Edison Carter, she often helped save the day for everyone.
She was also the pseudo-love-interest of Edison Carter, but that subplot was not explored fully on the show before it was cancelled.

In the summer of 1926, Dr. Snook met Theora Hix, a 21 year-old coed who was enrolled in Medical School and working for the College of Veterinary Medicine as a stenographer to earn her tuition and board at a dormatory on the OSU campus.
Eventually, Theora and Dr. Snook began a steamy affair, which was a most poorly-hidden secret among the small, close-knit community of the Veterinary College.
Snook had given Theora a pistol three years earlier when she told him that she was awakened one night by an intruder in her first-floor dorm room.

Theora is a tall, willowy Human woman, slim enough to pass for an Elf when she keeps her ears under her hair, though broad-shouldered enough that she ends up cutting the shoulder pads out of things she buys off the rack.
She picked her identity as Theora Jones (and her Matrix icon as Max Headroom) from an old flatvid series that was in the family archives, and accordingly selected a difficult-to-trace background in Wales before going on to Oxford to study for a couple of years.
Theora is currently looking to establish herself as something of a deckmeister with a mainframe and a microtronics facility; gathering a cadre of elite deckers together to battle the SOTA will be the next step from there.

Theora packets are thus intended to be used with a transport mechanism that provides free- form framing, synchronization, positioning, and error correction in accordance with these design assumptions, such as Ogg [1] or RTP/AVP [3].
Theora is similar to the Vorbis audio [10] in that it the decoder reads the probability model for the entropy coder and all quantization parameters from special "header" packets at the start of the compressed data.

Oggcodecs is a set of directshow filters to allow the playback of all the xiph codecs (vorbis, theora, speex and flac) in directshow, ie Windows Media Player and several other windows players.
It supports playback of Annodex media encoded with the open-standard Ogg Theora video codec and the Ogg Vorbis audio codec, uses timed URIs to perform efficient, bandwidth-friendly server-side seeking on Annodex media, enables hyperlinking into and out of Annodex media, and displays a "table of contents"-like clip list for CMML content.
