  Theory of forms
The forms, according to Plato, are roughly speaking archetypes or abstract representations of the many types and properties (that is, of universals) of things we see all around us.
These Forms represent the essence of various objects: they are that without which, a thing would not be the kind of thing it is. For example, there are countless tables in the world but the Form of tableness is at the core, it is the essence, of all of them.
A serious problem for the Theory of Forms is similar to that for Cartesian Dualism, if these Forms exist in "another world", or are not of the same order of reality as matter, how can they interact with matter to "inform" it.

 Theory of Forms
Forms are thus mind-independent entities: their existence and nature is independent of our beliefs and judgments about them.
Forms in the intelligible realm are postulated to be the objects of knowledge.
The Form of the Good is at the top of the hierarchy of Forms, illuminating all of the others (as the sun illuminates objects in the visible realm, to use Plato’s famous metaphor from the Republic).

 Plato’s Theory of Forms
In assessing the Theory of Forms it is important to remember that Plato was a profound language theorist.
The great logical strength of the Theory of Forms is that it is a construction capable of adapting to all criticism: whilst there are archetypal forms that correspond to all terms used by man, many of the terms used by man are incorrect; only the Gods use correct names consistently.
The theory still stands as a beacon after two and a half thousand years, attesting to the vast sweep of mind Plato was able to attain, using the simple means he found in himself and the strength he found by the acknowledgement of his own weakness.

The forms are the archetypes or perfect models for all of the properties that are present in material objects.
Hence, the forms are the causes of the existence of all objects as well as of their intelligibility.
All particular forms are subsumed under more general forms, and all forms are finally subsumed under the form of the Good.

 SparkNotes: Euthyphro: 4e - 6e
Socrates has Euthyphro agree with him that there must be one form or standard by which everything holy is holy and everything unholy, by contrast with the holy, is unholy.
The goal of the philosopher, according to Plato's theory, is to properly understand and appreciate these Forms, freeing his soul from the mundane material world.
The Theory of Forms is best exemplified in Plato's great middle period dialogues, such as the Phaedo and the Republic.

Theory developed by Plato (c.427-c.347 BC) in his middle-period dialogues (especially Phaedo, Symposium, Republic) and criticized by himself in his Parmenides (see third man argument).
The language of the theory occurs in his earlier dialogues, but its interpretation is disputed, as is his reaction in later dialogues to the Parmenides criticisms: did he modify the theory, abandon it, or treat the criticisms as applying only to a distorted version of it?
Forms (usually given a capital F) were properties or essences of things, treated as non-material abstract, but substantial, entities.

 Platonic Forms
This is a concise introduction to Plato’s use of the concept of “Form,” which many readers initially find to be puzzling, or even an egregious affront to common sense.
Suppose two or more judgments have the same form “A is φ,” “B is φ,” etc., where φ is any value predicate, such as ‘just’ or ‘beautiful.’ In such judgments we classify the entities or actions which we might substitute for the variables ‘A,’ ‘B,’ etc. as exemplifying a common quality: being just or beautiful.
Only the Forms really exist, for they are the “causes” (in the sense of archetypal standards) of whatever intelligible properties are discernible in those sensible things which seem to be most real.

Plato's theory of forms in the Republic
The "theory" of forms together with the Agathon is meant to explain the structure and source of existence through the comprehension (rather, the anamnesis) of which (major) salvation is possible.
The "theory of the form" is fully elaborated here, after which the Good is explicated as much as possible.
The "project of forms" of the Academy is thus continued by (after Dasein analysis) the projects of science in general and the clearest instance of the modern day "project of forms" is physics.

In the 1980's, results from the theory of automorphic forms were used to construct explicit families of Ramanujan graphs, that is, graphs for which Laplace eigenvalues satisfy strong inequalities.
This is already clear from the point of view of automorphic forms, where naive generalizations of the Ramanujan conjecture are know to be false and the correct formulations involve Langlands functoriality and the Arthur conjectures.

The attunement theory explains that the soul cannot be destroyed by death.
Since we cannot change the concept of these forms without creating confusion, all souls must have gotten this shared knowledge when the soul was separate from the body, i.e.
