Thermopolis is a town located in Hot Springs County, Wyoming.
As might be expected from its name and the name of its county, Thermopolis is home to numerous natural hot springs, in which mineral-laden waters are heated by geothermal processes.
The town is also home of the Wyoming Dinosaur Center, a private organization that conducts paleontology digs in the area.

In 1990 a search conducted under the auspices of the Wyoming Chapter of the Society of American Foresters determined the largest cottonwood to be on the Flying X Ranch in eastern Albany County, measuring 31 ft. in circumference, 64 ft. tall, and an average crown spread in excess of 100 ft.

I have extracted the Wyoming burial records from the mortuary book for use by libraries, museums, genealogical societies and cemetery associations of the State of Wyoming.
In January of 2000, I was given a paper copy of the above records by the Thermopolis Wyoming Cemetery District.
Hopewell refers to Hopewell Hospital, Thermopolis, WY. It was located on Hwy 20 North of Thermopolis, and the site overlooked the river and the terraces to the East.

Totals of 1,821 sediment and 920 water samples were collected from 1,977 locations in the Thermopolis quadrangle between 1968 and 1979 by four different groups as part of the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory (LASL) Thermopolis Quadrangle NURE Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance (HSSR) study.
