Having used the dog as a disguise, the thing is now loose in the American research camp and suddenly the paranoia mounts as everyone realizes they cannot trust their companions.
While I do not want to belittle “The Thing” in any way, I think it is fair to say that he has created a multitude of other high caliber films as well, many of which are totally underrated and misunderstood.
The Thing is the center of the film’s focus and since it works on a schedule of its own, the film has to follow.

For those few that happen to be unfamiliar with the background of the film version of The Thing, the storyline follows a group of American military scientists and soldiers based in the Antarctic who discover an extraterrestrial starship, buried for a millennia beneath the frozen tundra.
A word of caution: The Thing does come with a Mature rating due to the grizzly scenes that occur during the course of the game, as well as the course language found in the dialogue.
Paranoia also rules in the game, since The Thing has the ability to infect and absorb hosts at the cellular level, forcing both the player and the NPC’s into a situation where they cannot be 100 percent sure who is an enemy and who isn’t.

I guess the relatively poor financial performance of The Thing meant that we were lucky enough for the title not to be cashed in until both hardware and game playing had evolved far enough to produce the skillful, suspenseful and inspired piece of work that this game undoubtedly is.
