: Famous British guitarist and one of Mick Ronson's guitar heroes (George Harrison was the other) who appeared on-stage with Bowie at the final Ziggy Stardust concert at Hammersmith Odeon, London on 3 July 1973.
He duetted with Bowie on the songs "The Jean Genie" and part of The Beatle's "Love me Do" with Bowie singing and playing harmonica on the latter and also played on the song "Round and Round".
He was unfamiliar with rock and his first comment on learning his new assignment was "What is a David Bowie?"

Real Love (song) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Real Love" is a song originally written and performed as a demo by John Lennon, later re-worked by the three remaining members (Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr) of the Beatles in late 1995.
Although the song was first recorded in 1977, when Lennon recorded a song entitled "Real Love" with a handheld tape recorder on his piano at home, according to Beatles biographer John T. Marck, "Real Love" may have actually had its origins as part of the Beatles' last British #1, "The Ballad of John and Yoko".
Although the song was released as single in both the UK and US on March 4, 1996, the first time the song was publicly aired had come on November 20, 1995, when the American television channel, the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) aired the second episode of The Beatles Anthology.

His “It’s Only a Northern Song”- a Beatles song written by George Harrison - is so dead-on that it’s almost impossible to tell Hoover from Harrison.
But far from a cynical exercise, this is a labour of love as Hoover pays homage to the songs that have touched his life.
Proof of his adaptability and diverse skills, Hoover comfortably handles songs by the Traveling Wilburys ("Handle With Care"), Let's Active ("Horizon"), the Everly Brothers ("Cathy's Clown"), Todd Rundgren ("Izzat Love?") and, of course, the Beatles ("It's Only a Northern Song").

An overlooked and underappreciated aspect of this album is the strength of George Harrison's songs: "Taxman", "Love You To", and "I Want to Tell You".
But the two songs that cement John's place on this album (and which closed each side of the LP) are "She Said She Said" and "Tomorrow Never Knows".
There is not a weak song here, lyrically or musically.

 Eric Clapton Album Reviews
The album’s centerpiece, “Layla” was an impassioned love plea to “friend” George Harrison’s wife (hence the proposed anonymity of the Derek & The Dominos moniker, which fooled nobody) that is one of the most dramatic songs in all of rock.
Really, that was the whole point of this album, as Eric’s record company wanted to prove to the public that Clapton could still play the guitar hero role after the more song oriented nature of his last two solo albums.
After a disappointing duet album with B.B. King (2000's Riding With The King) and a forgettable follow up to Pilgrim (2001's Reptile, which is most notable for the appearance of The Impressions on backing vocals), Eric Clapton retrenched and returned to his first and dearest love, the blues.

One More Beatles Song, or Should They Just Let It Be?
A Beatles song in the sense that all four group members are heard on it, it is one of three "virtual reunion songs" worked on in 1995 by McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and producer Jeff Lynne.
Yoko Ono, who in 1994 chose the song, as well as "Bird" and "Real Love," for the remaining group members to turn into full-fledged Beatles tunes, says she does not oppose having it finished today.
Another song, "Grow Old With Me," was rejected by the group (rumored to be too poignant to handle), although was later scored with small orchestra by veteran Beatles producer George Martin, at Ono's request, and included on the "John Lennon Anthology."

Only A Northern song and It's All Too Much are George Harrison tracks that are severely underrated due to the fact that this is the album they appear on.
This album consists of two songs previously released on earlier Beatles albums (Yellow Submarine and All You Need Is Love), four previously unreleased songs (All Together Now, Only A Northern Song, Hey Bulldog, and It's All Too Much), and the rest of the songs are unreleased orchestral tracks by George Martin.
This is everything a rock and roll song should be, and is arguably the band's finest song.

McCartney, as he had done on his American tour this year, sang "Something," the Harrison composition once described by Frank Sinatra as McCartney and John Lennon's greatest love song.
Starr, resplendent in an embroidered scarlet velvet jacket, reached back to Harrison's old favorite, Carl Perkins, and sang "Honey Don't." On the Beatles' recording, Starr hollers for the guitar break with a "Rock on, George, one time for Ringo!" This time it was just, "Come on, let's hear you."
Harrison loved the comedy troupe's rude surrealism and, given that the profoundly spiritual Briton considered physical death a matter of little importance, he would surely have been delighted by his old pals from the "Life of Brian" movie days sticking it to the Grim Reaper.

This song was originally written in the late sixties by Harrison, and was a potential candidate for the Beatles' 1968 self-titled "White" album.
The top-20 single "Blow Away" might be one of Harrison's best contributions to the charts since "Give Me Love", with its uplifting and optimsitic lyrics, combining with adequate dosis of acoustic guitars, slide guitars (already a trademark of his albums) and synthesisers, with great results in a precious nature imagery.
Having just married his second wife Olivia & witnessing the birth of his son Dhani, George was clearly in a much better mood this time around, and the sunny weather of his island jaunts also helped to bring up his spirits & inspire him creatively.

 Thirty-Three & 1/3 by George Harrison CD
"Beautiful Girl" (which was actually written in 1969 as a potential Beatles song) is a gorgeous love song that's driven by Harrison's shimmering 12-string electric guitar, while "Dear One" weaves a haunting, Indian-influenced melody with a big pop chorus to create an intensely moving song of devotion.
"This Song" (George's humerous comment to the "My Sweet Lord" plagiarism trial) was a minor hit single and the highlight of teh album.
Released in 1976, THIRTY THREE & 1/3 spawned several hit singles, including "This Song" (an upbeat rocker featuring some jaunty organ playing by Billy Preston and a spoken word cameo from Monty Python's Eric Idle) and "Crackerbox Palace," a tuneful, mid-tempo pop song that offers a playful blend of mysticism and humor.

(The rest of the album was filled out with "Yellow Submarine," "All You Need Is Love," and a George Martin score that held little appeal to rock listeners.) What's more, the four new tracks were little more than pleasant throwaways that had been recorded during 1967 and early 1968.
These aren't all that bad; "All Together Now" is a kiddieish singalong, "Hey Bulldog" has some mild Lennon nastiness, and Harrison's "It's All Too Much" is highlighted by some tidal waves of feedback guitar.
The only Beatles album that could really be classified as inessential, mostly because it wasn't really a proper album at all, but a soundtrack that only utilized four new Beatles songs.

The final version of the song that appears on the album is a combination of these two takes: the frantic pace of the single is slowed down to the laid-back speed of the instrumental.
