 News for "Lost" (2004)
While many dramatic TV serials offer a recap during their season premiere, ABC will be offering viewers of its hit series Lost a chance to watch all of the episodes of the past season on DVD.
ABC's Desperate Housewives and Lost continued to keep the long-hibernating network in the action last week and were a decisive factor in holding NBC at bay.
One day after a preview screening of the new ABC series Lost at the outdoor Sunset on the Beach at Waikiki Beach, NBC screened a preview of its own produced-in-Hawaii series, Hawaii, at the same location Sunday night.

ABC-TV’s Hit Series, “Lost,” Features Sayid, a Sensitive, Appealing Iraqi
Asked his opinion of Hollywood’s portrayal of Arabs, Arab-American TV and film critic Jack Shaheen replied: “There are gobs of TV shows that stereotype Arabs in a negative light.
Each week’s episode provides more revelations on the pasts of the survivors—and they are as disparate a group as might be found on any international jetliner manifest.
When it hit extreme turbulence, radio communications were lost and the jetliner crashed 1,000 miles off course.

 Peyton Place
Peyton Place, a prime-time program based on the Grace Metalious novel, was an experiment for American television in both content and scheduling when it appeared on ABC, at that time still the third-ranked U.S. network.
Premiering in the fall of 1964, Peyton Place was offered in two serialized installments per week, Tuesday and Thursday nights, a first for American prime-time television.
Cut back to one half-hour episode per week, the show also was scheduled a half-hour earlier to appeal further to youthful audiences.

 The Unofficial Glass House Website
I WAS urging people to contact the head of ABC TV, Sandra Levy, with your opinions on the new desk, but I have been informed that Richard Fidler, the new Editorial Manager of Comedy (now THERE'S a title) at the ABC, is a better option.
The Glass House is back for a second season in 2002, so a big thank you to everyone who wrote to the ABC or your local papers to make sure everyone knew we wanted the show back.
4/9/03 - Those of you who watch The Glass House as a substitute for Good News Week will be pleased to note that next week's show features Rhys Muldoon, notable for his fine work on Playschool (as the bearer of the show's first visible tattoo) and during Bad Street Theatre and Million Dollar Riff.

The Original Donny & Marie Show
By chance, Fred Silverman, then president of ABC-TV, happened to catch them on it, and the pair were given their first prime-time TV special in November 1975.
The brother-and-sister team became the youngest co-hosts of a weekly TV variety show.
In the first three seasons, Donny and Marie opened their show each week with ice-skating, but in the fourth season, a disco dance number was featured.

Somewhere around the time he glimpsed the shark with the tattoo, a rabid "Lost" fan named Elan Lee knew there was something different going on: This was a TV show that liked its audience.
Buena Vista Television and ABC today unveiled the 'LOST Hawaiian Sweepstakes,' giving viewers of The Tony Danza Show a chance to head to Hawaii this winter to visit the tropical set of LOST and kick up some sand with primetime's hottest stars.
When the producers of Lost cast the role of Michael (a father trying to connect with his estranged son, Walt, only to have him kidnapped), they immediately knew Harold Perrineau was the perfect choice to portray this complex character.

Zap2it - TV news - 'Commander In Chief' Deposed Until April
02:30 PM PT ABC has invoked the TV-scheduling version of the 25th Amendment on its freshman series "Commander In Chief," benching it until mid-April.
The network had already announced that the show, which stars Golden Globe winner Geena Davis as the first female president, would take a six-week break starting March 7 to make room for the comedy "Sons & Daughters." Now ABC has pulled it for the rest of February as well.
While the series still ranks among the top 25 in total viewers, it's only 41st among the adults 18-49 demographic that's so important to advertisers.

'Commander in Chief' off air until spring AccessAtlanta
The series is struggling to find a balance between being a family drama that just happens to be set in the White House and being a crisis-of-the-week political procedural.
The issues had to do with Lurie, who had created the series after exploring similar themes about women in politics with the film "The Contender." Lurie tried to direct, write and produce most of the early episodes, an almost impossible task on a TV series.
'Commander in Chief' creator Rod Lurie, shown with star Geena Davis at ABC's summer press tour, was replaced by veteran TV man Steven Bochco after Lurie delivered late episodes.

Benson was an American television series which aired from 1979 to 1986 on ABC.
At the end of the series' final episode (7th season finale), it was election night, and with the race still too close to call, Benson and Gatling, who had strained relations due to the race, made their peace with one another and sat down together to watch election returns on television.
Benson's housekeeping dilemmas, his fights with the German housekeeper Gretchen Kraus (Inga Swenson), and his interactions with Clayton Endicott III (Rene Auberjonois), who assisted Governor Gatling as Secretary of State, made up the bulk of the stories each week.

 Australian Television: Phoenix: articles
Phoenix II also owes much of its appeal to the relevance as well as the tightness of its scripts—one of the commercial networks ran a series of special reports on "ag burgs" a week or so before the new series had its premiere.
Phoenix was a success for the ABC last year, collecting awards and, as a curious by-product, a cult following of young professionals, including detectives.
All the Phoenix characters are based on real people or a combination of real people, but Nisselle denied the series was an intrusion into their lives.

Industry sources report that both The WB and 20th Century Fox TV, which produces "Reba," have put out feelers to see if any experienced showrunners would be interested in taking the show over from creator/executive producer Allison Gibson.
