		We are a group of parents and educators working to create Thistledown Collaborative School, a small independent learning community inspired by Howard Gardner and Lev Vygotsky's view of students as competent and enthusiastic apprentices, and guided by the principles of the Earth Charter.
		Thistledown Collaborative School places an emphasis on projects and performances that build and demonstrate deep understanding of underlying concepts.
		Thistledown Collaborative School will be operated on a collective model, drawing on the skills, talents, and wisdom of parents, teachers and staff members.

	Thistledown - RC Groups
		Although I am not presently interested in the Elexaco competition for which the Thistledown was designed, I have been looking for a small but capable EP thermal soarer.
		I think that the Thistledown may find interest among sport flyers like me, who don't have either the space or the budget for the big floaters.

	Specialty Fibers: Thistledown
		Obviously thistles have thorns, some of which are not plain to the eye or more important, the hand.
		I tried carding it with cotton at a 50:50 ratio and the resulting rolags spun into a very nice yarn with luster and color of the thistledown dominating.
		I boiled the spun yarn to set the twist, and the thistledown which is a bit darker than the cotton, showed even more luster rather than dulling from the heat.
