  Thomas Blood - MSN Encarta
In May 1671, Blood, disguised as a clergyman and accompanied by a few confederates, succeeded in stealing the English crown from the Tower of London.
Perhaps acting on the advice of the royal favorite George Villiers, 2nd duke of Buckingham, who may have been involved with Blood in a 1669 plot to murder the lord lieutenant of Ireland, James Butler, 1st duke of Ormonde, Charles pardoned Blood and restored his Irish estates.
Blood remained influential in court circles the rest of his years.

Dolmetsch Online - Colonel Thomas Blood
Blood advanced the expected day to 5 March, notwithstanding his knowing of the betrayal, but Blood's brother-in-law, one Lackie, a minister, was, with many others, apprehended the day before, tried, convicted, and executed.
Blood made an attempt to rescue Lackie, but after that failure, he kept out of reach, not withstanding the Duke of Ormonde and the Earl of Orrery laboured to have him secured, and a proclamation was published by the former, with the promise of an ample reward for apprehending him.
Blood and his accomplices were now advanced beyond the main-guard; but the alarm being given to the warder at the drawbridge, he put himself in a posture to stop their progress.

Thomas contends that the trial court's ruling on this matter was an abuse of discretion and that Rembert's statement was not an excited utterance because Rembert had an opportunity to reflect and fabricate the statement and had a strong motive to shift blame to Thomas for the crime.
Thomas alleges that he was merely trying to establish that Ducharme's statements to police were inconsistent with each other and with her testimony on direct at trial.
Thomas conceded at trial that this matter was in the discretion of the trial court and was unable to cite any authority for his request.8 Thomas points to no such authority in his argument to this court either.

Thomas v. State - Florida DUI Lawyers
Thomas moved to suppress the results of the blood test on the ground that they were first obtained by the investigating officer interrogating the nurse who attended Thomas without Thomas's consent and without a subpoena or proper notice.
Furthermore, the fact that the officer initially requested and obtained, from the medical staff, the blood alcohol content of the blood drawn in the course of Thomas's treatment, instead of specifically requesting a blood draw pursuant to section 316.1933(1), does not warrant exclusion of the medical records subsequently obtained pursuant to the State's subpoena.
Thomas argues that the trial court erred by giving the jury an instruction on this permissive lesser-included offense because the information did not allege serious bodily injury and the State did not present evidence to establish that essential element.
