Thomas Edward Campbell (January 18, 1878–March 1, 1944) was the second and fourth governor in the State of Arizona, United States.
In 1917, he was initially declared the governor of Arizona in a disputed gubernatorial election but the decision was later overturned by the Supreme Court of Arizona, who awarded the election to George W.P. Hunt.

Alexander Stephens went to Georgia in Spring of 1786 with wife and 10 children.
If so, then this may not be the STEPHENS family of Alexander.
My guess is that his father had died and he had become "the man of the family." Note that this doesn't match the other data I have on this family.
