 Bolingbroke Castle Events
In the castle visitors enjoyed talks on and demonstrations of medieval armour and weaponry by the Erpynham Retinue (representing the era of Henry Bolingbroke) and living history, drill, cannon and musket firing from the time of the siege of 1643 presented by members of the English Civil War Society.
Even so, it is very wet except in the driest of weather so don't try to do this unless you can leap quite a few feet and in case you miss, have wellies on and don't mind getting muddy!
It isn't possible to walk the rolling farmland much of the battlefield occupies, but you can see a lot of it from the road.
