Thomas Fehlmann, who lives in Berlin has been active in electronic music as far back as the 1980s.
Thomas Fehlmann cuts beats like a mason lays bricks: slowly and steadily, with an exacting precision that belies the hyperactive tendencies of his oft-frantic, House-heavy peers.
Fehlmann has condensed the techno '90s into 13 songs, and does a polished-up job making that era (which may have lasted as long as to the dawn of techno terrorism on Sept. 11, 2001) sound like not such a bad place after all.

Mark Teppo (dot) com :: Thomas Fehlmann - Lowflow review
Thomas Fehlmann, a rotating member of the Orb, floats through a number of styles with Lowflow, ghosting through minimal glitch dub, vaporous house, sly downtempo, and the foundation-rattling thump of a subwoofer buried in the trunk of a passing car.
The driving beat of "Prefab" is interrupted by squirts of noise, a steel drum band, and a bass line that feels like it was nicked from Jack Dangers' studio.
Fehlmann doesn't set the world on fire with this record; he just builds a steady flow that effortlessly combines Berlin's breathless fascination with static, Detroit's love of four-on-the-floor techno, and Hollywood's obsession with layered filters that turn sunlight into liquid gold.

Hele albummet igennem arbejder Fehlmann konsekvent med denne form for kontraster: Blød strygersovs møder skrattende noise-lyde, og det rytmiske fundament svinger mellem akavet snublende beats og tilbagelænede hiphop-grooves.
